They're forcing the switchover to digital in America, too? Interesting.

Is that the reason behind the auctioning of the D block bandwidth, out of interest (I think it was D, might have been C... the 700Mhz bandwidth, I believe)?

Also it doesn't apply to cable television, only air broadcasts.

I actually have one in my room at my parents, still. Though, it's got the RCA jack so I could always run a splitter and have satellite in my room, as long as I don't mind watching the same channel as whomever else has it on in the living room...

Though, the damn converter boxes are going to be like $80, though you can ask for a $40 refund from the government.

When I had Directv I used the analog for local news channels sometimes, but I wouldn't pay $40 or $80 to keep watching them. Hmm it might be interesting to see the quality though.
