So here it is: the last NFL game to be played this season. Giants vs. Patriots.

Who's gonna win?

Unbelievable.... I can't believe the Midgets won last night..... What an awesome game, I just can't believe that Favre looked so bad and Ryan Grant was such a non-factor.

The Patriots are going to win, they fucking better.

Patriots are going to trample the Giants.

Only reason the NFC game was so close was because of the weather. It's so cold even being out five minutes in it, let alone entire quarters and exerting yourself.

I really wish for the Giants to win, the cockiness of the Patriots is just astounding, but they have proved why they can be so cocky.. yuck.

Thanatos
2008-01-21, 10:25 AM
You guys understand that if the Patriots win this year this is the ONLY thing we'll be hearing about in the NFL for years to come.. I don't want to hear about the Patriots being the best NFL team ever for the next 5 years...

GO GIANTS!!!

D3V
2008-01-21, 10:57 AM
That may be somewhat true, but then they'd just talk about how they were 16-0 and 'stunned the nation' with their flawless playing, so I think at this point it doesn't really matter, but I would like to see the ex-Jaguars' coach do good, Go Giants!

I mean, they're going to have better things to talk about next year, like who's going to replace Tony Dungy after he retires, as well as how the Colts dynasty has come and gone, and how they're going to rebuild :) haha

Thanatos
2008-01-21, 11:19 AM
They've already stated numerous times that our Assistant Head Coach, Jim Caldwell, would take over should Dungy retire. He's expected to make an announcement later today. Personally, I hope he does retire. Don't get me wrong, he's a great coach and all, but I think he should step down. I have my reasons.

Just because we're potentially losing our head coach does not mean we have to rebuild... at all... so I don't know where you're getting that from?

Titusfied

Seriously. I mean, look at the Cowboys. They lost Parcells and the next year had their most successful regular season in franchise history.

2008-01-21, 01:54 PM
Hah, I'm just poking fun at you guys. You should still have a year or two before salary cap issues hit you guys up. But we'll see.

*Edit* Uh-oh, breaking news. Tony Dungy will return for the 2008 season, they are scheduling a press conference for 4:30.

Somewhat unexpected, guess he wants another run at another ring. Good for him I actually have a good deal of respect for Dungy, as opposed to some of the other AFC coaches. Hmph.

www.nfl.com The top banner says so.

Man... I was ready for him to step down. :(

Patriots will win and we'll never hear about anything else for the next 10 years.

Thanatos
2008-01-22, 06:57 AM
That's what I'm saying... which is why we need them to lose. Because I know every fucking time I turn on Sportscenter after Feb. 3rd (Superbowl) they're gonna be broadcasting pro-Patriots stuff nonstop. I won't be able to take it.

Titusfied
2008-01-22, 07:58 AM
Eh, it'll be a nice hype for the off-season and beginning of pre-season, especially since they'll still be going for the most consecutive regular and post season wins record (which they own at like 23 or something, I think?).

There will be comparisons in the years to come to them, but it won't be annoying as all shit for a decade or anything...

D3V
2008-01-22, 08:06 AM
I mean, being a Patriot hater it is nice to realize that we're in an era where something like this could actually happen, it hasn't been since the 72 dolphins did it, and mayyy never happen for a long ass time again, it is something nice to sit back and look at.

but on the other hand, Fuck the patriots.

Thanatos

As a Colts fan, I simply cannot root for the Patriots in any way, shape, or form. I mean, yes, it is cool that an NFL team might go 19-0. But since it's the Patriots out of all teams, I cannot give them any credit. It's in my blood, I think.

HandOfHeaven
2008-01-22, 09:01 AM
Well, if they do go 19-0, won't that cause the other teams to try that much harder to stop them next season?

Have faith in my Giants. We almost beat them before and during a full season. We now have the time to heal up, especially our secondary. Also, we have bradshaw, someone that the Pats have not seen. THe mixture between him and Jacobs will losen the front line and make the Pats stack the box, leaving one on one coverage for Plex, Amani, Boss and Smith. Eli will manage the game and control the ball for nearly 40 minutes (what they did against Green Bay). Im not saying we are going to win, but we will play them hard.

Go Giants.

The g-men have somewhat slipped into the spotlight and now, baddabing they're in the superbowl. Good luck to them, seriously I know all of us here will be pulling for them. Just get pressure on Brady, and you = win. Who gives a fuck if he throws it deep on you if you blitz all of you're guys, just put him on his ass. He's going to throw over the top reguardless, so why not fuck with him before he does it? ...

Thanatos

Giants have won 10 straight road games. That's pretty impressive considering 3 of them came during the playoffs. Man, I wish I still lived in Arizona right now. I used to live in Glendale (it's a suburb of Phoenix) but yeah that's where they're hosting the SB this year. It doesn't look like Indy will ever get to host one. :(

2008-01-22, 10:24 AM
Haha, the shitty town of Jacksonville will probably have it's second before you guys get another chance at it. We've already heard on the news they're planning for a 2013-14 reappearance, so we'll see :) ..

Our stadium and area directly around the city is beautiful, it's when you get about 2-3 miles away from it when you hit the shitstains of the ciy.

Thanatos, the same way that you can't root for the Patriots to win the Super Bowl is the same reason I can't root for the Giants. Even more so for me though, since we are close division rivals.... I hate this.

Go Patriots!

I still love you Gruesome.

Thanatos

Yeah I hear ya there. You really want to hear nothing but pro-Patriots propaganda for the next 5 years?

Ditto, but replace "Colts" with "Steelers."

I definitely don't want to deal with the cultural aftermath of the Patriots going completely undefeated this year.

Oh, Sorry... The Jaguars' down here, us, Jaguar fans feel the same way really, it's a doublesided sword and you can't really take either side. I'm just ready for the damn game, we've still got another weekend before it's on, right? .. Hmph. I'm ready for the Super Bowl commercials as well :) haha. Hopefully they'll start getting better like they used to be a few years ago... I've got faith in the beer companies.

Not at all, man. Pittsburgh generally hates the Pats.
I was referring to the national cultural aftermath, "Legendary Patriots" and all the other bullshit that may come with it.

I love you too

Heard that the eagles might get ocho cinco. That would be huge with him on one side and curtis on the other with brown in the slot. That would be sweet for you and bad for me lol.

Titusfied
2008-01-27, 08:36 AM
Nah, I doubt we'll get him. If anything, our off season WR pickup will be Dante Stallworth.... Not terrible.

Thanatos
2008-01-28, 06:48 AM
Didn't he play for the Eagles before going to NE?

D3V
2008-01-28, 07:41 AM
I remember him playing for New Orleans, I think he may have played for the eagles for a year or so.

Go Giants!

Titusfied
2008-01-28, 12:23 PM
Yes, he played for us last year, and was awesome! We didn't want to pay him the money he was asking for, so we let him go and picked up Curtis. Having both them would be sweet.

Thanatos
2008-01-28, 01:23 PM
Why do you think the Eagles would go after him again? I doubt that NE offense is going to split up after this year..

Titusfied
2008-01-29, 12:19 PM
Because he had a subpar year this year with the Patriots, so he'll take the money we offer him, since it will probably be more than the Patriots will offer him. He goes after the money.

You talk like you were on the committee that decided this and like you signed his paychecks or something.

What is the quote in your signature suggesting, anyway? That you want to have a boyfriend and sleep around?

Titusfied
2008-01-30, 06:40 AM
No, but when you are a die hard sports fan, you would understand. Trying to analyze a comment like I made would make no sense to someone that doesn't care about sports or can't relate to someone that does.

And technically, I pay taxes in the city they pay for, which paid for the stadium they play in, so in a sense, I am paying towards his paychecks.

Grav
2008-01-30, 11:26 PM
That's a pretty bad leap of logic, though.

Thanatos
2008-01-31, 08:26 AM
Makes perfect sense to me.

Grav
2008-01-31, 09:35 AM
Everyone pays taxes. Not everyone has authoritative power over football rosters.

Thanatos
2008-01-31, 10:11 AM
He didn't say he had power over the roster, rather KA said he acted like he signed his paychecks and Titus said, in a way, he does since he pays taxes.

Grav

Yes, I follow. However, you can apply that argument to almost anything, so it is not effective.
