What are some games worth buying? There's this 'Last Stop CD Shop' in my town, and they have a plethera of SNES games. I have about 40 dollars to spend, so I was wondering which handful of games would be good to buy. I want to find Super Mario RPG, but I hear that is rare. Also, I wouldn't mind trying a FF game, but I also know that FFIII is very rare. Thoughts? Too bad Raziel isn't around as often, I'm sure he'd have a great selection of suggestions.

There's no way I can give you a list for only $40 of spending. Most likely you wouldn't find what I suggest anyway. Better idea is for you to go get an inventory of what all they have, and then I would be able to better suggest what to get.

Seriously...too many good games. If anything go with Chrono Trigger, Zelda, Mario (any of 'em), and Secret of Mana.
I back Chrono Trigger as do the rest, this game alone would keep me busy.. forever.

Well, Chrono Cross is a PS1 game. I was just wondering since I haven't played Chrono Trigger, but I loved Chrono Cross.

I never got into Chrono Cross for some reason. I had played Chrono Trigger religiously on SNES beforehand and was really into the storyline, etc. And then you get to Chrono Cross, they don't have any of the same characteres, and don't even really follow the storyline, if I recall right they we're basing it like 40 years ahead in time, but anyways, Chrono Cross was still a very fun game overall and it makes me very sad that they basically dumped all production on any future titles and just gave up on it.
But Chrono Trigger is something I think you had to be playing at the time to really appreciate, I even had a N64 at the time, and would still rather play CT over Mario 64.. if that helps.

Why don't you just list a bunch of games? No need to make it more difficult than it is. I just wanted your input on some of the better games.

If you find any of those at your store, you're lucky. A couple of them might not be TOO hard to find, but they're not games you can just walk into a store and pick up. You have to actually look for them.

Just stay away from sports games, mostly, although Punch Out is a good one. It also really depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for RPGs, I can suggest good ones, but they're also usually the hardest to find.

I want to get Mario RPG, but I may have to look online. I was just looking for good common games.

A good common game...I'd say practically non existent. If you can find Battle Clash and you have a zapper, well there's a nice combo, but I believe that Battle Clash is pretty rare game. I'm not sure how common it is, but it's fun in my opinion.

I started a thread on that. I think CC is better.
On-topic: Almost all the really good games have been suggested. Can't go wrong with the Final Fantasies (Mystic Quest excluded) and Chrono Trigger. Get Super Street Fighter II as well.

Quite a few games you can just download on your Wii.
Super Metroid, A link to the Past, Super Mario World, Chrono Trigger, and FF 3 are games everyone should have though.
The first 3 you can get on Wii for sure.
As for the Trigger/Cross argument, both are excellent games. I think I prefer the Trigger storyline, Cross has a more customizable battle system and a hell of a lot more characters to choose from though so that is nice also.

Chrono Trigger is better than Chrono Cross by far, in my opinion.
That being said, I can't honestly say I've finished Chrono Cross, mainly due to boredom and because the story was sucking ass, but if I had finished it I might have a slightly different opinion. Raziel loves the game and that at least counts for something. He has good taste (most of the time.)

It's a great game, so long as you're not expecting it to be Chrono Trigger 2.

Chrono Trigger
Super Metroid
Zelda: A Link to the Past
Secret of Mana
Super Mario World
Final Fantasy III (IV)
Turtles in Time and Goof Troop are extraordinarily great two-player co-op games, but not particularly fun in single player.
