Why?
You can run programs in compatibility mode for Win98 if need be using XP.
And I don't know how long it's been in your sig, but I agree with you about salad.

Now I just need some good skink cuz XP looks gay, i switched to classic windows theme, but i want some skins, classic win is temporal... BTW, anyone know about a no-activation code working 4 WinXP professional version 2002??? It'd be cool as my XP belongs to my girlfriend's dad and i dun wanna risk to activate it and fuck him up.... Or a XP can be activated in more then 1PC(or more than 1 registered user)???

Activation involves sending info about your PC config and CD key to Microsoft. They will be able to tell that it is not the same PC and will most likely not authorize activation. To use a no-activation key, you must install with it. Once you've installed with a retail key, you will have to wipe and reinstall XP to use a no-activation key.
Of course, there may be hacks available for after install, but I don't know.

Easier way. DON'T do the e-mail activation. Thats crap. Do the PHONE activation. Call them up to get it activated. They will notice it has already been activated X times but all you have to say is that your computer crashed and I need to reinstall Windows XP. Thats what I did, I am using my friend's Win XP and called them to activate saying my comp crashed and boom, they gave me the code :).

Dont ya realize? If ya use the same activation key multiple times, the first or previous installation using that key won't work anymore.. Thats why they do it that way. I dont know about a no key install... Try it I guess.

As it is already installed and i don't feel like installing it with the no activation thing... I'll do the phone registration... It sounded OK... well, even better, I'll tell my girlfriend's dad to do it 4 me, that way he gives his data and nothing is messed... Thx

After 3-4 months, Microsoft cleans out the registry keys in its database.. So, you can reregister with no problems after that. That's what my aunt did.. she used our copy, registered, and is currently using XP with no complaints from Microsoft.
