View Full Version : Darn it. Who did I rep again?

I've asked once or twice, a couple of others have asked, and I've seen quite a few posts recently in which people say that they'd give someone rep, but they can't. The latest was MJ:

People suck. Plain and simple.

Good post, KA. I'd give you +rep on that one, but apparently I can't.

---

WW, is there any way at all to allow us to view who we've given Rep to?

We can see who's repped us in our User CP, but not who we've repped. I've only give it out to a few people, and it's been so long since I did so that I can't for the life of me remember who. And seeing as we can only give it to a person again after we've repped five (or is it six?) others, it's becoming a sort of Russion Roulette as to whether it can be given or not.

In Soviet Russia post reps you, or something.

Would be a good addition in my eyes.

Dunno why it isn't already in place. It's been suggested. Do it, fag.

I've been able to see who's repped me for quite some time now.

No, they want the other way arround. They want to know who they can't rep, mostly.
Getting the data is simple. Integrating the display into the forum is more complicated.

Someone is lost.

If you find Kagom, please tell him he is dumb.

Is it possible to cannibalise the code that shows who's repped you, by any chance?

I imagine it would be done in the same way, and the method used to collect the data would be similar. No?

Alternatively, we could simply get rid of all of the rep rules. True, this is potential for abuse, but honestly it's just a fun little thing anyway. What does it matter. I'm sure it will eventually settle out to be the way it would have been with the rules anyway.

You'd still need some kind of rule system, though, otherwise what would stop someone negative repping a member over and over and over again?

If the current rules are done away with, then I'd propose more lax rules to be put in place - you can only rep a certain number of members a day, and you can only rep a member once per day.

You have a point.

I changed the spread to three instead of six, so that should make things easier.

I actually like Lenny's idea a bit more, but this is an improvement too.

I only proposed that as an alternative to no rules at all. :p

Whilst we still can't see who we've repped, hopefully having to rep three members, rather than six before you can rep the same person again will work.

And if not, well, another new thread brings acivity, right?

NO! It doesn't Lenny! Why don't you fuck off you bloody wanker!

Just kidding! Yay for activity!

Does the list of reps that you've received dissapear after so-long?

I think it only shows the last ~5.

Would there be a way to see all of them?

I know other forums you can "View All", so I don't see why not.
