And it's pretty good so far. The only thing bugging me is that X is no longer reload/etc. I have it programmed into my brain to hit X after I kill anything to reload, but since reload is right bumper now I'm all thrown off. Not only that, but I can't keep an item for more than 2 seconds because I accidently use them. Why didn't they just make right bumper use item instead of switching it up? X just seemed perfect for reload.
It is kinda funny when I try to reload and accidently chew away my shield with that energy item thingy, though.

Can't you re-map the controls?

As far as I can tell, no. There are different button-map styles, such as Southpaw, but that changes all of the buttons. As far as I know, there's no way to change an individual button. Wish there were, and if there is I'd love for someone to tell me how. It's annoying the shit out of me.

Bungie created it this way because they wanted the main part of the controls, x, y, a, b, to do more things then they do in Halo's 1/2. THey feel that the equipment aspect will add more to the game, and it really does.

Actually, they did it because now you can reload/swap weapons/get into a vehicle/open a door without having to tie up your thumb. This pretty much means, you can still look around while doing those things now.
Either way, I don't like it, and I can't get used to it.

You will. I had the same problems when I first started playing as I was used to Halo 1/2 using the X button. I'm used to it now.

Nice, and I've been slacked as hell lately with Halo.... I actually just moved back from Miami to Philly and I've been making the transition with a new project job (same company) in Plymouth Meeting, PA... It's been insane.
