New Ideas

I've posted a bunch of threads in various forums suggesting possible things to do to increase activity or fun in those forums. Please review them when you get a chance, and try to participate where you can.

I think this would help bring even more newcomers than the RPGMaker forum already does, and perhaps they will stick around. If not, it's at least guaranteed to get us a lot of google hits which could mean more chances for new members. Also, I think if done right, it could encourage some current members to post in the RPGMaker forum who do not even use RPGMaker currently.

List of Characters/Servers people play (http://zelaron.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43551)
This one is more for increasing activity with the members we have already, but it could also mean new members joining. I'm hoping that with such a list, people will try to play with each other, increasing interest in those games on the forums. It could encourage members to START playing another game to play with others, as well. This could all lead up to having subforums for the games that the most members play, and increasing activity and also new member generation.

Not much of a reason for this one other than it had been suggested before. Might encourage people to post more news, who knows? I don't think it's a big deal, and will probably have minimal effects on the forum, but at this point I think just about any sort of change is good change.

Nominate Debate Topics (http://zelaron.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43548)
I think this could definitely increase activity around here, if only in the Opinion and Debate forum. Could get interesting too. It was planned and started before but it never got going, I believe because MJ got really busy and could no longer do it.

New Zelaron Melee (http://zelaron.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43550)
Simply, Zelaron Melee was a lot of fun. It brought a lot of activity back in its day, and I believe it would do so again. I see no reason not to do it, assuming we have enough people interested.

Flame-Off (http://zelaron.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43547)
Same as the Debate stuff, basically, other than the fact that it's in the Flame-forum. I think it will have generally the same effect.

Please, if you have any ideas of your own, suggest them. I'll be more than happy to get the ball rolling if needed.

I've thrown out a few things in various of those new posts already. Great to see somebody putting fourth the effort, even though it's really only like 2-3 people that seem to give a shit anymore, hopefully the tide will change soon enough.

I think part of the problem is Chruser is so busy lately that he can't give his input on things, so they're just getting stuck. Like the NSFW forum. It's stalled until he gives his input.

Well hopefully a few of the above ideas will help out in that. I think some advertising might be helpful, and also Zelaron T-Shirts would most definately be helpful. I guarantee you I could put a T-Shirt on that says Zelaron.com on it and go walk around the mall for an hour and we'd at least have some people coming to see what it is.

Really, we just need him to approve ideas. There are ideas in the works, of course, but it isn't solely his responisibility to come up with them.

We need to get a Zelaron store open, with Cafepress or something. Me and Chruser had been talking about it, but he's been so busy that I think it's kinda died now.

I will review the ideas you have listed ASAP, although I am unable to do so right now due to time constraints (surprise!). If I've missed anything else that's essential for me to make a decision about (which is likely), go ahead and send me a PM with links, and I will look into that before I browse the rest of the forum.

(If anyone is wondering, I'm attending the Umeå Institute of Design (http://www.dh.umu.se) nowadays. My compulsory classes often extend from 9 AM to 8 PM Mon thru Fri, not to mention there is a LOT of work to do on your spare time. I'm confident this is similar to what it would feel like to study mechanical engineering and illustration at AC simultaneously. I stayed at school from 9 AM to 5 AM yesterday.)
