Everyone starts with 100 points. Every 100 points lets you alter by 1 point. Every year of membership lets you alter by 1 point. So right now, my vote would count 7 points, 1 point that everyone has, 1 point for starting at 100, and 5 points for 5 years. Negative votes only count half (rounded down)

Click the http://zelaron.com/forum/images/synth/deepblue/buttons/reputation.gif button on the post to vote. Right now, you get 3 votes per day, and have to vote on 6 different people before you can vote on the same person again. We'll see how those numbers work out...

But isn't that how it's supposed to work? It's a reputation system after all. If people don't like you they will give you negative reputation. All this means is people don't like you and the reputation system is doing exactly what it is meant to do.

As far as I can tell, that doesn't tell you WHO gave you the rep, it just shows a comment and such.

Even if this is abused, I don't see it being a problem to be honest. One, it doesn't really effect posting much. Two, even if some people do nothing but abuse the system, the others who use the system correctly will balance the rankings out.

Speaking of which, is there any way to see rankings based on reputation points?

You can only rep 3 people per day. You cannot rep the same person twice within that period since you have to spread it around 6 times. It can't be the same person.

As far as people not leaving comments, well, it's not as if we can force someone to leave a comment. I guess WW could add a "required number of characters" to it, but even then, people would probably put gibberish and nonsense if they don't want to put something meaningful.
