View Full Version : Forums down?
I was unable to log on at any place all day yesterday and now my 100% is gone :( ... Anybody else have this problem?

It certainly is true.
Oh well alright, just making sure it wasn't just me, guessing they just had some maintenance or something.

Forums were up, DNS was down. 100% was kept. Gotta love it when WW answers questions! :D
Ah ok okay. But the stats page says 91.8% not that it matters because I stilll have the giant avatar  so I guess that's all that matters.

Indeed. Stay above 75% to keep it, I think... unless it's been changed to 50%.

Hopefully nobody will lose their big avatar for it, even if you don't have 100%. I was talking with WW about it, would be unfair if you don't get to keep it.

I was wondering if I was the only one who was having problems the past few days.

It seems like it's only partially fixed. I can't visit from home, but I can from work, so it isn't geographical. Also, Spector can't visit from home or work, and he uses Comcast where I use Qwest, so it isn't ISP. WW says it's on our end but I don't think he even knows what's actually wrong. He says wait it out. I'm sure there are still people who can't access.
Ah geez. I think they must've put a douchbag filter on here, which is why I don't understand why HoH can still post..

D3v, sometimes you really impress me with your wit. For example, when you called HoH "HoE." I almost busted a gut.

Klo can't access from work...

Yeah, there's something weird going on. WW says he can't do anything about it though. Chruser is uncontactable and from what I understand he's really the only one who can fix it.

Am I the only one not having any kind of problem? Yeah, I couldn't access using the regular address when the DNS was down, but I accessed the site all the same. Nothing comes between Zelaron and my 100% status.
I can get on at work now.
Looks like kaneda got on yesterday though. ugh

He was quite friendly too. I apologize for tossing insults at you when he was the one who deserved them, I was merely reacting without thinking.

Oh jesus you can't take a poke at anything..
I mean honestly, you really think you could even work at somewhere like UPS? .. Didn't think so, you can't ever deliver..

This problem could possibly be related when I couldn't log on when I was at my old house for a day or so.
Nice cheap shot, D3V. Keep in mind that this is in Forum News and Discussion.
Oh guys lighten up. But seriously I'm having problems and I'm at work right now.. The "New Posts" button doesn't seem to be working and it's really really slow.
Hmm. Damn Zelaron :(

No, you said it's on your end. You did a tracert and you said it died on the second hop. Unless you connect to the internet through a server in the same datacenter, that means it's on your end of the internet.

[21:15] PiMPiNReDHaTMaN: [21:14] *** Aquafina has joined #zelaron.
[21:14] Aquafina: Is zel down for everyone else to?
[21:15] PiMPiNReDHaTMaN: Not sure who that is.
[21:15] PiMPiNReDHaTMaN: Is that you?
[21:16] 146763477: You aren't IP banned
[21:16] PiMPiNReDHaTMaN: That's Spector
[21:16] PiMPiNReDHaTMaN: Zelaron isn't working for him either.
[21:16] PiMPiNReDHaTMaN: He uses comcast, I use Qwest
[21:17] 146763477: Qwest shows packet loss on internet health report
[21:17] 146763477: Not sure if it's related
[21:18] PiMPiNReDHaTMaN: Either way, he's using Comcast, which is a completely separate ISP
[21:18] PiMPiNReDHaTMaN: competitor, actually.
[21:19] 146763477: And?
[21:19] 146763477: Whereever the problem is, it's entirely out of my control
[21:19] PiMPiNReDHaTMaN: I'm just suggesting that the problem is not with us.
Not to mention lots of other people had problems. It was not on my end, or anyone elses end, it was on Zelaron's end.

That's why there were lots of people that didn't have problems, right? Because there was something wrong with Zelaron's internet connection? That's why we could all access it, huh?

I could not access it either.
It may have been sheer coincidence that multiple people could not access it at the same time. More likely the problem lies elsewhere.

From Tuesday morning through Wednesday day, the problem was DNS related. The nameserver registration that some of the domains on the server were using (owned by our ex-host) apparently was taken down or expired.
Following that, late Wednesday evening, there was a router or routers down causing some paths to Zelaron to fail. During this time, there were still many people on.
Are you saying you couldn't access it during the second time?

I don't recall what day it was that I could not access it.
I could not access it from two entirely different Internet connections on the first day... At work OR at home would not work.. Our work has some T1 line that is NEVER down, and at home = Bellsouth (AT&T)..

That seems consistent with my failed access attempts.
