Isn't it the Beta version for the new WoW add-on?

It is the Expansion Pack for World of Warcraft coming out early 2007 I believe(I think it is January).

It has a new continent, 2 new races, lvl cap raised to 70, flying mounts for new continent, new battlegrounds, new instances and some slighty changed, all new spells, talent trees modified and expanded to accomidate new lvl cap and so on.

In other words, its gonna be sweet.

Fuck you Sov, I want to play closed beta!

Work + School. I'm really just exploring atm V_V.

I take it they arent going to let us keep the characters we level are they

Obviously. That would be pretty stupid for them to let everyone in beta have that kind of advantage over everyone else. Especially since the EXP levels in beta right now are much higher than they will be in release. Blizzard has said that in release, leveling from 60-70 will take as long as leveling from 1-60. Currently in beta it isn't that hard to level to 70.

Didn't think so.

SO yeah, exploring only for me. Saving up bunches of screen shots =D

SOme of the new zones are freaking weird.

I dont know I think the exp is going to be the same unless they are going to add a lot more quests or something because without rested exp just doing the quests you get through the zones before you are high enough. Im only 64 but without rested exp I would still be 63 and on my way to nagrand (the 4th zone). Exp seems to work out pretty well right now with almost the right amount of quests. Some people can get a lvl 60 guy in 5 days played time, so Im sure some people can do that with 60-70 as they have in beta.

Like I said, EXP levels in beta right now are not how they will be in the release. This has been said by blues, it's confirmed, the only reason they have it where you can level pretty quickly right now is because otherwise the higher level issues wouldn't arise in beta for weeks and it would take a lot longer of a beta.

A blue said almost exactly that "Leveling from 60-70 will take around the same time as level from 1-60." I'd find the exact post but I'm too lazy.

Are you refering to exp PER level with "EXP levels"? Or the amount of exp that each mob gives you. I've heard about the 1-60 timeframe 50 times just never seen the posts about how exp is different in beta because I tend not to troll the wow forums. Too many whiners that fuck things up for other people.

I'm sure the easiest way for them to do what they want is to just reduce the ammount of exp between levels.

If they raise the amount between each level Im going to cry because there are barely enough quests at the moment to level properly :(. I dont mind grinding a few mobs or doing an instance to hit the ding mark, but I'm not in the mood do grind mobs for an extra couple hours because I run out of quests.

Outland for some reason seems a bit small to me, given the two years since the original wow came out.

I know they havnt been working on it for that long, but still.

Post SS!

I wanna see this shit man.

Ill see if i can pop a good screen of shattrah, very cool looking city. Terrokar looks really cool but so far it has been the most annoying place because of the mob density, there is shit always attacking you. Ive been to hellfire, zangarmarsh and just finished terrokar. On my way to nagrand.

Most likely both. I've never seen it actually specified by a blue, I've just read that it will take just as long from 60-70 as it did from 1-60, and that is how Blizzard wants it. How they will go about making it so is not something that I know.

ok well this is some info I got from a guy on a guild site and he is pretty smart and generally correct about things.

"During the Alpha, leveling was pretty quick, faster than it currently is in the Beta. They changed that for the Closed Beta, slowed it down a lot and moved the focus in experienced from grinding mobs to quests and instance runs.

Blue also said that they regard the current situation as a sort of "opposite extreme", where it is much slower to level, and that the final curve will be somewhere in the middle.

I figure the 60-70 is going to take a person about as much work as 40-60, maybe less, and not the outrageous 1-60 figures that have been bandied around."

It's very possible that the blue who said "60-70 will take as long as 1-60" was just misinformed. It's not like blues have never said stuff that wasn't true due to them not knowing any better :-P

Regardless, the point at hand is that they are not going to allow alpha and beta players to stay level 70 into release. You'll have to start over with everyone else, and it would be unfair any other way(You already have enough of an advantage just by having PLAYED from 60-70, much like someone who has leveled 1-60 can level to 60 a lot faster than someone who has not.) You know the quests ahead of time, any nifty tricks to deal with certain things or situations, you've got practice with any new spells/talents that everyone else will be adjusting to.

Yeah im pretty sure I will be ahead of the crowd for the most part. Tis a good feeling. Ive done every damn quest possible and I doubt they will be adding many more. Even if they do I will know 90% of them.

Well there are still unreleased zones that you might not get much time to mess with.
