(Answer) YES!!!

We have some really funny and stupid conversations here, yet I wanted to write this thread on a more serious note. I decided to do this after several personal messages I had with SYG (Sum Yung Guy). Most of you know he is active military. Maybe you don’t. I don’t want to reveal a lot of personal info, but I will say he just re-upped for another four years. After I read that, I realized how devoted he is to our country. I realized how devoted he is to our clan and this forum when he let me know it was 2:30 a.m. in Kuwait, and he would finish something the next day. So he serves his country all day long and finds time to bull-shit with us in the late hours of the night. I have never met SYG in person, but I would like to. I can already tell what kind of person he is. I have no doubt the rest of his battalion are a lot like him: Devoted, Courageous, Honest, Brave, Admirable, Trustworthy, and the list goes on…

So why I am I writing this? Because our men and women of the Armed Forces may or may not know how we truly feel.

What is a hero? The dictionary defines hero as “A person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life.” I truly believe our military is comprised of heroes. People who leave their families and love ones behind to travel to foreign and many unpopular destinations to do the work needed to provide us with our freedom, and bring a new way of life to those in need. Wars may not be popular, but usually result in peace and freedom.

I hope SYG will share the thoughts of this thread with his fellow soldiers. I want them to know we do care about them and we are extremely proud and appreciative of what they do. Please post your personal thoughts about those brave soldiers who protect our country and our freedom everyday! I know it will mean a lot to them.

Gutter Out….

One of the perks of the military is you learn something called 'sleep deprivation' ;)

Seriously though, thank you for your comments, it always feels great to get online and read something like this... the rest of my day with be great. Also don't forget about ol SGT Smith (S2 AM) he is in Iraq in the middle of the shit right now. I am probally going to print him out some pages from our forum to mail to him since he dont get to use the internet hardly.

Well peace out, and thanks for the uplifting comments.
(now only if my fiance could be proud of me for re-upping)

I'm sure she'll understand. Are you trying to make the military your long term job?

Either way, I agree with all the comments above. You and Smith are more dedicated than I could ever be, and you're both better men because of it. Keep up the hard work and thanks a million for fighting for my rights. :D

Seriously, the bullshit you and smith live for is what makes stupid shit like this forum possible for the rest of us (not saying I don't enjoy this place, but seriously). If it weren't for you, we'd all probably be living in some shit ass sand hole. You guys exemplify what a United States citizen is. I wish you both the best. You are both brave men. Three cheers for Smith and Delong.

Ha! Were not citizens. Guilty until proven innocent.

Seriously tho, it is a dangerous job, I just got back from the memorial service for our units for KIA. But I am proud to be doing it.

I was in the Marine Corps. I know some of what you are going through. You have the right heart for it, keep it up.

You two aren't citizens?

Yea, it's really good to have people like you in the armed forces. I don't really agree with the premise behind this war but hey, whether you support the war or not you should always support the soldiers. I hope you two get plenty of headshots.
