no Walt Chamborlin (sp) recored a 100 pont game and i think MJ did as well. Kobe has been averaging 48 pts per game and 49.7 percent from the field

MJ never broke 70 points in a single game. There are only a handful of people (5 I believe) that actually have. Kobe is #2, only the Wilt, and Chamberlain scored in the 70s like 4 times, plus his 100 point game in '62.

Kobe was fucking amazing though last night.. Retarded.

I saw something on Sportscenter where Wilt was #1 with 100, Kobe's performance the other night was #2, and then Wilt had a lot more games in the 70s. I think they showed the top 10 most points scored in a single game in NBA history and MJ wasn't even on the list.

Steve Nash is a small white boy. Enough said. Now my boy "Starberry" has something to say about taking control of a game.

True, but when you have Marion, Amare, Richardson, etc, its tough not to win. It looks like that Final they won was impressive, no wait, they didn't win cause Nash sucked it up. They didn't even make it to the semi's. Granted, they had to play the Spurs, but still its embarrasing to have lost in that fashion.

Yea, but that isn't all Nash's fault. I mean, when you have a star-studded line-up, it's certainly not fair to blame it all on Nash. But what about Dallas? When Nash left, Dallas struggled. When Nash joined the suns, they thrived. I don't see how it is embarassing to lose to the NBA champions -- they couldn't have picked a better team to lose against. The Spurs outplayed them, simple as that. That doesn't take away from Steve Nash's abilities at all. Without Nash, the Suns would crumble in my opinion, and that is what makes an MVP.

That said, I don't think it's fair to say that Kobe isn't worthy of the MVP. I mean his team is a play-off contender -- they don't have that much talent on that team. The fact that Kobe can completely carry a team on his shoulders is saying quite a bit. Both are fit contenders for the MVP award.

Marbury -- ehh, Marbury isn't that great imo. Nash is a much better point guard. In my opinion, Francis is a better point guard than Marbury too, however his numbers have certainly decreased this year.

You mean Francis numbers have been decreasing for several years now right? If we are asking for the best point guard, you can look much farther then Jason Kid. The man can score, rebound and lead a team. Now if the Nets got a decent big guy, then they would go to the finals every year.

How about Gilbert Arenas? He's having a solid year as a point guard.

Another ball hog. He was ten times better with Larry Hughes in the backcourt.
