You have to become exalted with thunder bluff to get a kodo unless you are a tauren, basically you can have any kind of mount you want, you just have to get exalted with the faction that sells it.

Mjordan hooked me up with some gold tonight so I could get my lvl 40 raptor mount. I'm pretty stoked about that.
