I'm definitely excited about this one. I LOVED Mario 64, and this is going to be a thousand times better. I can't wait!

Has anybody seen the E3 video footage for the game? If not, here's the link to the Nintendo E3 website:

The video is fucking awesome, and is just more proof that this game will rock. Plain and simple.

yea, the game looks cool, but the plot is not so good

What were you expecting? Demons and robots? It's a Mario game, dude. You don't play Mario games for the plot.
GameCube
2002-07-16, 06:22 PM
well, yea, but usually the plot is rescue princess peach/toadstool. in this game he cleans up a dirty island. but i will prob get this game because i too loved super mario 64 and am anxious for the sequel.

I want it I want it!

Personally, I like the fact that Peach's ass doesn't need rescuing this time. It's a nice break from the old Mario song and dance. Have you seen the E3 footage yet? Jesus almighty this game is going to fucking rock!
The thing on his back is way better than Luigi's vacuum cleaner...

yea whats up with these GC games? luigis mansion gots flashlights for weapons now the new mario is water thingy for weapon? i would prefer if he just had regular punch/kick/stomp and no water gun... or perfeably firepower

Take a look at the video, SYG. The water pack is just an extra piece of equipment for Mario. He can still do all of the same physical moves and attacks as he had in Super Mario 64. The pack just adds bonus abilities like a super jump and a hover ability...and it shoots water out of the top...

still squirt guns is kinda childish... i want more firepower!
Raziel

Then play Resident Evil! Mario isn't supposed to have guns. That just undermines the entire atmosphere of the series.

i didnt say guns.. i said FIREPOWER.. or flowerpower however u refer to it, its been around since Mario 1

Oh, okay, I misunderstood what you were saying. You meant his fireball power. I would've liked it too, but the water pack has more involvement with the gameplay. Fireballs are just an extra attack.
The thing on Mario's back is a: jetpack, water gun, bubble gun, water propeller, and prolly more...it kix @$$!!!

AHA! The water pack is called "FLOOD". I just read the hands on impression of the game at IGN, and they fucking love it!

Okay, I just picked it up yesterday and I haven't been able to stop playing it for more than a few hours. This game is INCREDIBLE. Although, the camera system is still pretty weak, the rest of the game is just unbelievable. The graphics, the music, the controls, the level design...ALL of it is just simply breathtaking. If you own a Gamecube, you absolutely MUST buy this game.

I just did. Quite nice. I wish it were "stars" instead of "shines", however.. those shine things aren't Mario-y enough.

It doesn't really matter to me. The game still rules one way or another.

True.. up to 27 shines now! w00t!

Have you gone after any of the level's "Secret Shines"? You know those bonus levels where Shadow Mario steals FLUDD? If you go back after you've finished them, you get to keep the water pack and there will be a timed Red Coin Challenge. It's not quite as hard as it sounds.

i havent played it yet, but i plan on renting it
Same here, whenever it arrives at Blockbuster...

I only stop for a Zelaron break. (And, armed with the new knowledge you provided, I shall gain many more Shines...)

Rabber, sell some blood! Or whore yourself out on the street!
BlueCube, I try not to play it too much. I don't want to beat it only a few days after I bought it. Although I'm sorely tempted to kick Jeff off my Cube and start back up.

3 more years and sperm donation and blood donation is a good idea.
