Okay so Myself and a couple of friends play outdoor soccer right now. Our school is poor and can't afford a soccer team because our school is 100% football so we play through a seperate league. But anyways, the season is very short since there are only 4 teams in our age group in this league so I'm thinking about playing indoor soccer through the summer. I've never played indoor before and i was just wondering if it would be worth my time or if it's not as good indoors because it owns outdoors. Anyone have any experience playing indoor or whatnot?

It's very high pace, you'll have to adapt to turf shoes, and work with the walls. Can't slide tackle or leave your feet. You can actually get a blue card, I think, that gives your 2 minutes in the box. It's very nice and very fun to play, especially if you know the trajectory of the bankshots. It's lots of fun.

Indoor soccer is insane. And so much damn fun. Having the walls changes the game so much it's almost like a different sport. And yah, staying on your feet is important. Enjoy!

Indoor soccer > outdoor soccer.

I played indoor for about 3 years and it was the funnest thing ever. You can ruff up the players more and slam them into the walls. This is my second favorite sport to play. Basketball is first :P

I like Indoor soccer because you can basically play it in the same conditions year round. That and what you said, slamming people into walls.

Eh, for us people who are good at soccer, I can hit a person in the head from up to 20 yards away.

Yeah, what he said. It's like a mini hockey rink I think. And if you hit the ball into the side nets above the walls or to the ceiling where there is a net, you get a free kick where it hit. Sue_13, where do you live? hahaha

JRwakebord

Not really, because now you will have the added option of kicking it to the side. Kicking the ball to the left of your opponent and bouncing it off the wall while running past your opponent on the right to get the ball behind them will be so much fun you'll do it every chance you get.

Eh, I helped break a guy's leg in fall soccer two years ago. Combo'd with a pothole, they were so pissed when they came here for the second game. Only one red card, but it was brutal.

HandOfHeaven

I heard it break. Didn't feel it, but I did slidetackle (cleat up) his leg when he was in full stride. Luckily I didn't get a yellow or a red card.

7v7 sounds good. For the practices when I'm with the U18s, we play 6v6 with no keepers on small fields, it's really good too. We have so much ball control, and it was equally balanced around the team.

sue_13
2005-05-17, 09:20 PM
yeah 7vs7 is going to be completely different... especially since none of us have played much in the past due to us not having a school team.
