Solidus Snake
Gender: Male
Race: Genetically-Engineered Human
Solidus Snake was the third survivor of the Les Enfants Terribles Project, which was used by the US Government to create the ultimate soldiers. There were originally eight babies to be born, but five were intentionally aborted to encourage strong fetal growth. (The Super Baby Method)
The Patriots entrusted him with the presidency, but after the Shadow Moses Incident (events of Metal Gear Solid) was revealed, and Metal Gear REX and the secret of the Genome Army went public, he was forced to resign and was nearly bumped off by the Patriots. He went underground, and has resurfaced with his Sons of Liberty to attempt and break the Patriots' hold on the US.
Armed with a powerful full-body exoskeleton, he is extremely deadly. With his enhanced speed, strength and reflexes, he is a destruction machine. He managed to take on multiple Metal Gears. His suit is equipped with an accelerator that gives him the ability to make large boosts in his speed. If that wasn't enough, there are two "snake-arms" that can fire missiles and be used to grab, choke and break the neck of, the unfortunate enemy. To cap it all off, his enhanced reflexes makes his skill with his dual blades nearly unmatched.
ATTACKS:
Downward Double Slash - Powerful, unbockable attack.
Various Combo slashes - Simple combo slashes.
Headbutt
Roundhouse kick
Tentacle extension
Tentacle sweeps - (Never blocked it, always fell to it)
Tentacle propelled jomp and downward slash
Fire trail
4 Tentacle missiles
Speedy slashes
Solidus was finally killed after crashing down from the top of Federal Hall.
FIGHT!

Several ways to appoarch it... an easy opponent.
First of all, Solidus' attacks can be easily predicted. You can see his moves from miles away, and there is not reason why Dante couldn't just dodge them.
Well, what should I say? Dodge, counter attack, dodge, counter attack... Solidus makes himself vunlerable after every of his attack. Any style, devilarm, and firearm will work just fine. Though, with Royal Guard, Dante will completely destroy him without taking a scratch. (As oppose to just destroy him without taking a scratch)
If you want me to be more specific, then Rebellion + Beowulf, Ebony&Ivory + Spiral with Royal Guard. Jump to avoid the ground sweep, (or simply keep himself out of the range) walk or quick roll to avoid missile, Air Hike or Quick roll to avoid other attacks. Just-Defense if a hit closes it while in the middle of an attack. Release/Just Release when fully charged, and DT explosion whenever possible.

That is completely a thing they put in the game that the AI did. It is equal to a pattern of magic attacks used by opponents. In a simulated battle, it means nothing.
Jump to avoid the ground sweep, (or simply keep himself out of the range)
While he's jumping, Solidus could put on a boost of speed and when he goes to land, he could impale him. Also, he could, again, put on a boost of speed. Dante couldn't stay away from Solidus for long.
walk or quick roll to avoid missile,
Again, a boost in speed would put in right at Dante while he's just ending his flip.
Dante can only win if he gets in super-close. And, while he's super-close, Solidus has two arms and two tentacles attacking him. Are you expecting me to believe Dante could get passed the two arms and Solidus blades and strike a fatal blow? I don't recall hearing he was like the Flash. And, if Solidus thinks he's in danger, he could simply blast himself out of danger or use his snake-arms to propel himself away.

Actually, you are wrong. I'm not saying this pattern is predictable, I'm saying his actions are. You can see him swing his arm, and there is some windup time before he could boost. Not to mention it takes some time to accelerate into his full speed, while being slower initially.
I never said Dante would aim to stay in a distance for the whole battle, but mainly when he does the ground sweep. With Air Hike and E&I, Dante can jump twice, and within each jump, he could sustain in air with E&I. Not to mention he could just-defense if he senses any danger.
Dante has fought more powerful tentacle-wielding creatues (DMC3), and yes, you better believe that he could dodge/parry/just-defense all the attacks and counterattack/just-release/DT explosion to end the fight.

Let me get this straight. Dante could avoid the snake-arms, and be able to avoid Solidus' acceleration and then be able to get through Solidus' defenses while Solidus is on the attack? How? He could avoid the snake-arms for a bit, but one he got close to Solidus' he'd have his attention getting past Solidus' defensw with his blades. How can he do that and watch out for Solidus' snake-arms?
And, let's say Dante did get in and Solidus was in real danger. He could either zip out of there or use his snake-arms to propel himself away. And, then Dante would have to chase Solidus, and while Dante's running and jumping to catch up with Solidus, Solidus can shoot right at him. As you probably saw, he would blast away in one direction and then turn back around and do it again. So, what's stopping Dante from getting impaled by the super-fast Solidus? Is he gonna do another fancy role?
I can't see Dante getting past all Solidus' defenses. He's not wicked fast, he has to contend with long tentacles that can shoot missiles, smack and choke him, and then get close and focus on Solidus' himself and take his attention away from the snake-arms.

Royal Guard, Royal Guard, and more Royal Guard will block everything.
Have you played DMC3?

A video I grabbed off gamefaqs board, by Panda Attack and hosted by dwarfkicker.
Pay extra attention to him just defending Beowulf's feather projectile, and Vergil's slash attack. He could do the "just defense" move in air, on ground any time. And it can block every single attack in the game. (Take a lot of practice with the timing in game...)
