I'm looking for a small list of must-buy games for PS2, Gamecube, and/or GBA.

I've got some money to spend now due to certain changes in my paycheck distribution, and I'm looking to spend some of it on games each month. I haven't bought all that many (very few actually) in the past couple of years, so great games of the past are very welcome on these lists as well as current games and new releases.

All I have on the slate to buy right now is GT4, so... Help me out here.

Bob, I'd need to know what games you already own for each console. If you just want my top-rated list for all of the current-generation consoles I own, you could find that out by just doing a search. If I already know what you own and what you haven't played yet, I can make a more educated recommendation.

However, even without the response, I can give you a few recommendations right off the bat, because I know not you, nor anyone else here, has bothered to play them.

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (GCN)
Beyond Good & Evil (GCN or XBox; it really boils down to controller preference)
Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy (GCN or Xbox; Ditto)

Wow. That's the most outstanding thing I've ever seen...Sphinx and Cursed Mummy? Beyond good and evil? Damn! Never though I'd hear those game coming out of your mouth...I haven't played either because they look like younger audience games, but maybe I'll look into them.
As for Eternal Darkness, I bought it when it first came out, and it was new and cool for the first 1-2hours then it "insanity" started getting repetative...supposably when you insanity bar gets higher wierder things start happening. Not true. The same things keep happening despite where the bar is at. The idea of going back in time and changing characters was fun though, different moves, worlds, puzzles.

Well, I'll see if I can't get a list together when they get my damn internet back up at my apartment.

I can say that I've played Beyond Good & Evil for the PC and didn't really like it. Additionally, I don't have an Xbox, so all those games are ruled out for me.

Well, that's your problem right there. You played the PC version. That one's almost as bad as the PS2 version. You should have given the GCN release a shot.

Sphinx is a multi-platform title, so the GCN version is always an option. It's actually the version I'd recommend the most, simply because it's so much like a Zelda game that the controller configuration feels the most natural.

BG&E is in no way, shape or form a "kid's game." It's not a ridiculously challenging game, but the puzzle elements and plot are probably a bit too much for kids these days.

Sphinx is most certainly not a kids game. Just because it's not dripping with gore and boobs doesn't make it children's fodder.

Not true. The same things keep happening despite where the bar is at.

Then you must not have been playing Eternal Darkness, because the sanity effects absolutely kept changing throughout the course of the game. Either that, or you stopped playing after two hours. It's not an instantly-gratifying game. Unless you sink a good seven or eight hours into it, you won't see what's so awesome about it.

Make a wax figurine of a nude woman. Put it in the microwave.

well i do not know what type of games you are into playing so i will make a few suggestions on games that i personally like. For the GBA i would recomend Final Fantasy 1&2 Dawn of souls, or Final Fantasy Tatics Advanced. FF 1&2 is awesome if you have never played them for the NES than i would really recommend it as an awesome RPG. If you are more into strategy or tatics games then i do not think you could go wrong with FF Tatics.

For Game Cube i would say that my favorite games would be Super Smash Brothers Melee, for a good beatem up game, not overly complicated moves or combos just some good old fashion button mashing fun. If FPS games are your Genre i could whole heartedly recomend Metriod Prime. I have yet to play another game that has as nice of level detail in it. I have not got a chance to play the Second Metriod Prime game Alter Echos, but if it is anything like the first one you couldnt go wrong with it either.

For PS2 i dont have anything that really comes to mind as an outstanding game. Since you are going to get GT 4 then you do not need GT 3 which i thought was a superb game, with awesome graphics. I personally think if you have played any of the Grand Theft Auto games that there really is not a need to get a new one because they do not up grade the graphics at all they only add more weapons and different cars to drive around, but if you have not played it before you might pick up a copy of one of them for cheap.
