I was wondering if you were supposed to get the Light Beam right after the Dark Beam. I did, and it didn't feel right. Also, what are the different suits you get. I know you get the Dark Suit, but do you get the Gravity, Phazon, or any other new suits. And one last question, can you play as Dark Samus or anyone else in multiplayer. It is getting old fast, and there are only 2 more levels you get, and the music isn't the greatest aspect of multiplayer. Thanks (most likely Raziel) for all comments. The game is better than expected, although I dislike the loss of the Wave, Plasma, and Ice beams.

You get both close together so you can start killing stuff to get ammo of the opposite type. Kill boxes with the Light beam to get Dark ammo, and vice versa.

Light suit. Protects you completely from the Dark world's atmosphere, and lets you ride on beams of light.

I have no idea, I played multiplayer a grand total of once.

Dark = Ice
Light = Plasma
Annihilator = Wave
They do the exact same things, but they look different. Dark has a freezing effect, you know what enemy hates ice.. and Light has a burning effect. The last beam even does the auto-homing thing, which is actually kind of annoying if you have more than one enemy around.
On an unrelated note, just beat the game with 99% scans. I missed one on a multipart boss. I'm going through it on Hard with the music off to pick up on audio cues better (haven't even gotten the Dark beam yet and I've already found missiles and a Denzium wall that I didn't notice before.) Thanks, Not-So-Obvious-"Item Is Nearby"-Alarm!

Thanks! I am only 20% done, but I can only play on weekends anyways, so.....
and that alarm is very handy, is it not? I used it in the first game, but ended up trading it to meet the price of Underground 2. You said you got 99% of scans, what does that do, besides image galleries.
Also, I think the best new feature is being able to manipulate the scanned enemies. unlike the still portions of bodies in the first one. Thanks again.
