I have been hearing alot about them already. I was wondering if any of you have given any of them a try or seen them in action? I wouldn't want to use it myself but I am sure some of you wouldn't hesitate to try one out.

I had had thoughts about making one quite some time ago with Autoit, but any ideas I had for Pixel Checksums and whatnot to detect when to pull in the line didn't make any sense.
I refuse to use something that will interact with memory on WoW, since I'm paying for it.

Nah I don't see how any fishing bot could work, may be if you do it through memory.

Actually, all you would REALLY need is a Packet sniffer and Autoit. ;)
Sniff out the Fish Hooked packet, and have it click when it's sent. You can either program the sniffer to write to an .ini each time, but it'd be more efficient to use something to translate the received packet into an Autoit variable it can be watching for.
Either that, or have it make a certain area change color/etc... the possibilities are endless.
I personally would rather play this legit, however.
I had the idea for the development of a fishing bot since I saw that you could get things aside from fish from it.
I have access to one. Haven't attempted to use it, just because it seems like a hassle. I don't really consider it cheating because you aren't really getting an unfair advantage, because it's not like you can go and level up while fishing.

Meh, you're making money while AFK. It doesn't really do a whole lot, but it's still a small advantage.

Plus at higher levels you can get some pretty good items
There are people who go out with the intent of reporting fishbotters now, because they get little thank you notes from the GMs when they report it. It makes them feel special.

I likely would report anyone doing so myself. I know it's ironic considering what I did in D2, but I think this game will be awesome if Blizz keeps the hacks and bots under control.

What kind of bot did you try? Was it a fishing bot? What account name should I report to Blizzard that you are a Haxx0rz? j/k What made it horrible?

Well fishing itself really isn't worth it. Plus Blizzard did a good job at randomizing. The color of the bobber changes with the time of day and everything. So it's really hard to make a proper accurate bot.

Only would make it difficult for Autoit bots. I imagine there's a packet sent to your client to trigger the 'bob' animation. All you would need to do is set up a Trigger type thing.

Nah, it's all based on color detection.
