Can't decide on a case... look pretty good to all of you guys?

I can't figure out what processor/video card to go with for 3D Rendering.

Do not order from BuyXTreme gear, they are sold out on everything and will never tell you, back ordering you for a month. Stick to www.zipzoomfly.com and www.newegg.com

But the best processor deal is at http://www.mwave.com/mwave/ProdCPUBUNDLES-64.hmx?updepts=BUNAMDCPU&DNAME=Motherboard+Bundles+By+AMD+CPU

Go to the
AMD ATHLON 64 3500+ RETAILED 64-BIT BUNDLE W/ Details
and select the MSI K8N NEO 2 PLATINUM

Case: http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=144003
Or: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-133-124&depa=1

Card: http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=14-130-203&DEPA=0

Stick to the Geforce 6800 GT, $100 less than the ultra but only a fraction slower

Don't bother with the raptor unless you're gonna get two and go Raid 0, otherwise it's not worth the $ for similarly good shit like a WD JD

And wtf are you doing with the RAM? You don't need higher bandwidth, you want lower latency. With an A64 all you need is PC 3200 basically. 3-4-4-8 is disgracefully slow. Get stuff with 2-2-2-5. (http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=80097-08)

I have no idea about hardware, that's why I posted :)

Thanks, that was a very good post, Grav, appriciate it.

But you also need a new power supply to support all that. At least 420 watts.

I made a killer theoretical 3500+ system minus video card for $1200.

Alright.

Thanks :)... if I get straight A's the computer is mine, free, almost everything I want.

Fuck you, richer. Know what I get for straight A's? Food. Spoiled piece of kid.

Actually... I would say getting a x800pro from Gigabyte, with a flash, it acts exactly same as the XT, enabling all 16 pipes.

Spoiled rotten kid?

Ok.

I worked all summer to buy a car, and now I don't need a car, and I asked my parents if I could buy a computer... they suggested this:

Since computer is probably going to be my profession, they decided to invest in one if I tried this year.

I have 1200 dollars of my own hard earned money, don't tell me I'm spoiled, I didn't ask them for anything.

It's still free.

Here's my case: http://www.crazypc.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=120199&Product_Code=81481

Though mine is black, but they don't sell that one on there anymore. I have the blowhole window on top too.

So what grav?

I worked minimum wage all summer.

I'm not spoiled.

Grav

Minimum wage?! Hah! What a brat. I had to work with a group of 4 traveling Mexicans getting paid $6/hr. For the 5 of us. Good $1.20/hr shit.

Anyway, if you need more help then show respect to the Mexican Jesus.

Grav, do you like to make your life harder? I mean, why didn't you just work at a McDonald's or something...

Yeah, it's getting obvious that you're joking :)

Thanks for your contribution too, Mantra.

Randuin, you should crop out the background and just have the guitar in your signature.
