Tommorow I will call AOL. Man, I know they will try to make me stay with them. Last time, I was trying to cancel AOL and they didn't leave me - they offered me 2 months free. I was a sucker for free AOL. I tried to cancel like three times, but the same thing happened. Oh well, this time I will not accept their offer.
Make sure you get the customer rep's name and such, and call back later to make sure you are REALLY canceled - they'll probably just say something like "Sure, we'll remove your account within 24 hours" and just ignore the fact that you even called. I've heard way too many horror stories about AOL..

When you call AOL say, "Look here bitch, I'm tired of your overpriced shitty ass internet. SO GET ME THE FUCK OFF OF IT." AOL is so gay about not letting people cancel. You just have to get straight to the point and say No means No. Time warner is definitely the way to go. AOL is so terrible... I don't understand how they stay in business when they charge more than everyone else for a bag of crap.

Osmoses posts aren't that bad... I just slam my head on the desk 3 times and then snort heroine before reading them... they make perfect sense.

Because many people believe that AOL is the actual Internet. The "All my friends are on AOL" is very convincing to people who don't understand computers - why on earth would they want to be "on a different Internet" than everyone else?
Plus, if they know someone that has AOL, they want to email them, so they figure there's no possible way to email someone on AOL without having AOL themselves. Yes, I've had that said to me.

Just a few weeks ago, we found out AOL was still taking money out of our bank (or something like that dont remmber). This is 2 years after we canceled. it was a fucking huge amount of money too! Some how we got it back.
