View Full Version : My max work
wow.. a barrel.. first realistic thing I've made with max
I haven't figured out how to apply the submaterial textures yet so it's like blueish instead of the rust texture I made.

looks very good with the old metal/rust texture. only thing i can think of is making the two bulges in the middle a little smaller of a buldge.

Put a dent in the corner and vary the middle bulges.

if you did that in 3ds max then i think its really good :p if you could make the water look like its moving then it would be very realistic. try doing that part in photoshop maybe?

Ok, its not too good, but I didn't use a tutorial for this one!

I probably could've blended the sky and water better though..
Would you guess that those mountains are made from completely flat planes? The power of vertices ;)

The real problem with max is to make interiors of objects after they have already been made. Making a spaceship model shouldn't take too long for an experienced modeller, but making the inside will take a LONG while.
Wouldn't you usually have different models for the exterior and interior?

No, you can pull the vertices inside the ship, and therefore make a hole into it :/

Well...Xenn has joined the Graphics Guys...I applaud your newfound skills at 3dSMax.
I think I'll still tinker around with my PS6 for a while though...
