Damn. Tyson got knocked out in the 4th round. I guess this is the end for him. :(

Slim
2004-07-30, 09:48 PM
He's looking forward to eating our children.

2004-07-30, 09:48 PM
Huh, there was a fight? I thought he quit after getting owned by Lennix Lewis (sp?)

Demosthenes
2004-07-30, 09:51 PM
Nope. There was a fight 17 months ago which he won in 49 seconds. Then he lost this one in the 4th round.

Titusfied
2004-07-30, 09:52 PM
Holy shit, are you serious? What the fuck..

Demosthenes
2004-07-30, 09:53 PM
Yup. He plans 6 more fights over the next two years, but he lost to a 9-1 underdog...

Slim
2004-07-30, 09:53 PM
No, he's lying and trying to get our hopes up.

Titusfied
2004-07-30, 09:56 PM
Wow, I knew about his other fights, but him losing already is ludicrous..

Slim
2004-07-30, 09:58 PM
For some reason I'm now picture Tyson saying "ludicrous" in that high childish voice of his.

Demosthenes
2004-07-30, 10:07 PM
You should have heard him say "euphoric" a couple days ago in an interview.

Penny_Bags
2004-07-31, 12:02 AM
For some reason I am now picturing Titus call my voicemail message ludicrous....

Slim
2004-07-31, 12:03 AM
I'm picturing him calling you a fruitcake. HAHA

Penny_Bags
2004-07-31, 12:06 AM
Give me a break. That was 2 years ago. I was 8 inches shorter, and a view octaves less manly.

Penny_Bags
2004-07-31, 12:06 AM
Mind you, I still don't have a deep voice, but it's normal.

Slim
2004-07-31, 12:07 AM
I still laughed like hell, I don't think that one will be dying anytime soon...

undeadzombieguy

I tought Tyson was planning to get into K-1, I really hope he does because thats the BEST fighting sport ever.

Titusfied
2004-07-31, 08:20 AM
Yeah, that was a rumor floating around for a while. That would be totally kick ass, but I don't know. He'd probably get owned so fucking hard.

Demosthenes
2004-07-31, 09:03 AM
He'd probably get owned so fucking hard.

Are you being serious?

Penny_Bags
2004-07-31, 09:12 AM
Yeah. Really hard.

Demosthenes
2004-07-31, 09:18 AM
Tyson would probably kick some ass.

Titusfied
2004-07-31, 09:50 AM
Dude, those fighters are as hard as nails. I've been a huge UFC watcher for years now, and with Tyson's current condition, he would get fucking rocked. He doesn't know how to defend against kicks, and on the ground, it would be a massacre.

undeadzombieguy
2004-07-31, 11:09 AM
No...I'm talking about K1, its kickboxing, no ground fights allowed. Still he would get owned, all former boxers who think they can do something in k1 have failed so far.

The tournaments are fucking hard, the fighters have to fight 3 matches (if they make it that far of course) on 1 night, 1 match lasts 3 rounds. This doesnt sound like much when your used to boxing, but its like 10x more intense because of the use of kicks.

We dutch ppl fucking rule this sport, if I'm not mistaken Peter Aerts has won the world championship 4 times in Japan, Ernesto Hoost also won it like 4-5 times, and now the last championship is won by Remy Bonjasky, all dutch ppl :D

Slim
2004-07-31, 11:11 AM
Is it kind of like Muay Thai kickboxing?

undeadzombieguy
2004-07-31, 11:21 AM
Yes it's something like that, except you cant grab and hold someone too long and you cant use elbows.

Slim
2004-07-31, 11:22 AM
Oh hell, Tyson won't last long at all then.

Demosthenes
2004-07-31, 11:55 AM
I seriously think you guys underestimate Mike Tyson.

Titusfied
2004-07-31, 12:21 PM
I seriously think that you either (1) over-estimate Tyson, or (2) haven't watched enough K1 fighting. Those mother fuckers are no joke.

Yeah, I was confusing K1 with UFC. UFC is a LOT better and more badass, but either one, Tyson would not win a tournament. Not only doesn't he have the stamina to last through a series of fights in a matter of hours, he can't defend against these psycho's. They would probably love Tyson to do it, just so they can show the world how truely fucking badass and tough they are.

Slim
2004-07-31, 01:36 PM
MJ, throwing Tyson in the ring with kickboxers is about like throwing a newborn baby in a cage with rabid pitbulls, he will have no idea what to do. It is nothing like regular boxing.

Demosthenes
2004-07-31, 01:47 PM
Dude, that guy can take unbelievable amounts of hit. Now, I haven't watched much of UFC, so I can't say, but are those guys all that strong?

Slim
2004-07-31, 01:49 PM
Do you think he'll be able to defend against kicks to the back/legs/etc? It's not as much strength as strategy and endurance. Tyson will be outclassed here, he'll be made a fool of.

Titusfied
2004-07-31, 01:50 PM
Some of them are extremely strong, and some are strong enough. By that, I mean, they are strong enough to do damage, but they are super smart, quick, and tactical that Tyson wouldn't know what the fuck was going on.

Demosthenes
2004-07-31, 01:57 PM
Yea, but if Tyson even gets one hit...

Plus, think about the reverse. Put these guys in the boxing ring with Tyson.

Shining Knights
2004-07-31, 02:02 PM
It matters not whether you win or lose; what matters is whether I win or lose.

Demosthenes
2004-07-31, 02:04 PM
They are EXTREMLY fast, and would pwn him, in boxing...

That's a bunch of bullshit.

Slim
2004-07-31, 02:05 PM
All they have to do is dodge his shots (they will have no problem) and take any openings he leaves.

Demosthenes
2004-07-31, 02:08 PM
BOXING?!?! Come on now. Watch the fights. These dudes are extremely quick, and evasive. Definitely not boxing. Think about it. These boxing fights make MILLIONS of dollars per every major fight. UFC probably makes a fraction of that. Tyson was the highest paid athlete for a long time. Now why, if UFC fighters were good enough, would they pick UFC instead of millions of dollars.

Slim
2004-07-31, 02:10 PM
Why? Because they aren't in it for the money...they're in it for the sheer thrill of beating the unholy living piss out of some poor shmuck and leaving him bleeding, unconcious, and broken on the matt.

Demosthenes
2004-07-31, 02:11 PM

I know you of all people don't buy that. Even the most kind-hearted, virtuous people are brainwashed by money. If your claims are true, then why don't they do the same thing in the boxing ring.

Titusfied
2004-07-31, 02:12 PM
No, straight up boxing, Tyson would own them.

Slim
2004-07-31, 02:12 PM
Because the fight is about 10x more intense. They want the challenge.
