I've got MvDK halfway finished and Gungrave is supposed to be abhorrently short. Like two hours. Once I finish both of those games, I'll be starting on Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (GBA).

By the way, for those of you unaware, Pac Man Vs. on Gamecube is disgustingly fun. It shouldn't be as entertaining as it is.

Oh, Titus, please say that BO2 isn't your first foray into the Legacy of Kain series. That game is easily the least impressive of the bunch.

Well, I bought it a long ass time ago, right when it came out, but wasn't very impressed, so I stopped playing it. I decided to pick it up again after hearing your rave reviews on the series. Honestly, I'm still not that impressed yet, but its not my first dip into the series, I don't think. I did play and beat the very first one of the series (I think at least) that came out for Playstation years upon years upon years ago.

What ones would you recommend over BO2, and why is this one so much different and unimpressive?

I'd certainly hope so. I got bored of blood omen 2 before i got anywhere near to beating it.

I'd recommend picking up Soul Reaver far before either of the Blood Omen games. Then I'd suggest playing SR2, and then Defiance. The two Blood Omen games are definitely cool, but the SR games are just much better.

The reason Blood Omen 2 is so disappointing is based around few key factors:

1) Extreme technical issues. Blood Omen 2 features a sacreligious lack of polish. The hit-detection sucks, the framrate drops constantly and there are a number of clipping problems. On top of that, there are a number of cinematics in the game where the audio track is offset from the video by a full five seconds. Plus, the animations are stiff and repetitive and the sound effects are occasionally glitchy. There's just a ton of bugs.

2) The puzzle design is atrocious. Seriously, it's all lever and block puzzles. Boring, uninspired and very, very done.

3) The level design is 100% linear. You don't revisit areas, there's little to no exploration to be found and you don't have much of a choice as to where you should go next.

4) The story is a bit convoluted. It fucks with the Legcay of Kain plot a bit too much. Thankfully, Defiance cleans up almost all of the messes that BO2 made.

It's just not up to LoK standards. The bar set previously by SR1 and SR2 was just too high for BO2 to reach, especially considering that the BO2 team was a completely separate group from the Soul Reaver/Defiance team.

If you pick up Soul Reaver, you'll enjoy the hell out of it. That's the first one I played, and it's the game that got me hooked on the LoK series. SR2 fills in a lot of plot elements that you might be confused about. If you're really interested in the LoK series, here's the order I'd recommend.

And then the Blood Omen games if you're interested in filling in the backstory. The Soul Reaver games and Defiance are the most important to the central plot, the Blood Omen games are just basically filler.

*giggles* Grown my ass. The game's still the same old bore fest. Missions are stupid, PVP is boring and only few classes are actually good, and basically, the game is just an online chatroom that you have to pay for. You have to grind almost all of the professions just to get a Jedi, and once you get the Jedi, you have to grind even more. Then, you will still suck in PvP. There's a bug that doesn't let you become a Master Jedi, too. Now, yes, they are doing a Jedi revamp, but all it is doing is making Jedi leveling 7 times harder, and now anyone can become a Jedi. Wasn't it Sony who said Jedi would be very rare in the Star Wars universe? Oh, and it still has a lot of bugs. It's not really the worst game I've ever played, but it gets boring very fast. I think you should get WOW. Mostly all of the beta testers say that it is very fun.

Great GREAT mmorpg, and Mythic, the makers, are great with their customers... When I first bought the game and made an account (they dont require billing info at first, thats a +) I thought I'd get one month free like they said, so after the one month, I decided to start paying, because the game was that damn good, sent em a check for 3 months of game play, and whaddya know... I get 3 months free tacked on! great company (got the one month trial from buying it, then they gve me 3 addiotional free months until they started charging me, so basically 8 months for 35$)

Also, the in game CSR's are helpful as all hell, theres virtually no lag, and realm vs realm combat is the shit.... check it out...

Lol oh I thought Donkey Konga was like another Donkey Kong n64. I haven't heard much of what the game is about, I haven't heard of this Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat~

Konga is just a rythm game like DDR, only it's a drumming game. You get this weird controller that's a pair of plastic bongo drums and you pound on them in rythm with the game. I've heard it's fun, but certainly not the game that Nintendo should release in America in order to promote this bongo controller thing.

Everything I've heard about Jungle Beat has been unbelievably positive. It's an action game and you use the bongo controller to move Donkey Kong and make him perform actions. I don't know exactly how it works, but even the guys from the PS2 and XBox channels at IGN were saying that it was the most addictive game at E3 this year.

I wish I could get somebody to play that fucking game with me. It's hard enought trying to get two people to play Four Swords, much less a full-blown RPG.

Eastside Hockey Manager 2007. Incredibly addictive game, especially with the new fantasy draft. I keep restarting trying to make a better and better franchise.

Oh aye. It's been out for about two weeks, now.

It's a lot better than Factions, methinks, and brings back all the fun from Prophecies.

The Heroes are a very good idea - rather than have to spend so much on yourself getting al your skills together and changing professions and whatever, you can make your Heroes special builds instead, and you can actually tell them when to use the skills you've give them (they have every single skill you've unlocked in any of the games if you have them installed).

Also, rather than having to warp to the desert to change profession, you can do it in the Skills menu, and also save different builds that you can switch to by selecting them on a menu (however, you can only change them if you have completed those quests).

Started Kingdom Hearts 2 again, this time on the PS3, so I don't have my old saved game (though if I can put up with pixel characters I'll set up the PS2 someday - it doesn't like my television. :().

And I'm still working my way through Oblivion on the PS3. 150 hours, I've just saved Kvatch in the main story, I'm Archmage, Head of the Thieves Guild, Champion of the Arena, and about to start to bring down the Blackwood Company. Oh, and I'm Lvl 23, I think it was.

Didn't buy the PS3, actually. I've been pet sitting for a friend who happens to own one.
The game is pretty awesome. Targeting can be kind of iffy sometimes, but that seems to add to the haphazard hero feel. It looks amazing. From what I understand, though, it is pretty short (10 hours or so).

I started playing Uncharted yesterday. So far I've got up to just after the demo ends (about fifteen minutes further) and I'm loving it. The story has still to kick in fully (though there has been quite a bit of it), the scenery is breath-taking, and the graphics are even better than the demo.

Both systems have their problems - freezing issues, mostly - but I've not read of any PS3 owners who have had a console bricked by the game. If it does freeze, they just restart it and carry on.

To be honest, I think it's pot luck. I've been talking to a few 360 owners today who got the game last night, and they managed to play for a couple of hours before they went to bed, with no problems (well, a few framerate issues with the opening cutscenes, but that's about it).

You may be unlucky, you may not be.

Compared to Fallout 2? A rather different experience.

The previous games contained more random humor, and Fallout 2 specifically had a noticably wider variety of weaponry. Nevertheless, Fallout 3 is gorgeous, the world is immersive, and there is seemingly endless potential for exploration.

The one thing that is bothering me is the fact that my experience maxed out at level 20 last night, so no more stat increases or perks. Dang.

On the PC, I'm jumping at drips in Bioshock, suppressing the growth of a third arm in Fallout 3, and being raped by the very first level in CoD4. And there's always Guild Wars here and there.

On the PS3, I'm having quite a bit of fun ambushing outposts in Far Cry 2, knee-capping as many Chimera as possible in Resistance 2, and searching once again for the golden man in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. If I need a bit of amusement, then I'll pop in LittleBigPlanet and float around the pretty levels. :)
