Alright, here's where I want to see people suggesting ideas for the next tournament theme. There are a number of possibilities, including movie characters, comic characters, anime characters, more video game characters, literary characters and so forth. I'd like to see what people would be most interested to see next, and I'd certainly like to see suggestions for other types of themes that haven't been identified yet.
So, vote! Tell us what you want to see next!

I don't see movie characters working too well. Comic book characters could work, but I think we should stick to video games.
And literature is a big fuck no. Maybe anime characters would even work, but I doubt it.

I chose comics, just because there are so many badass characters. There could easily be a villains tournament, heros tournament, then the winners could face each other.
I like comic books characters, but anything would really work.

My first choice would be anime.
My second choice would be comics.

More games.

I'm all for games, but we already used most of the cool ones. There are still a lot out there, but the main stream ones that a lot of people know and love oh so much are taken already. Unless we duplicate some over again, which I'd rather not do. Either way, I don't mind what ever way we go.

There were a ton in the tournament I didn't even know. That was bad enough.
Comics aren't for everyone, and not everyone is a comic buff.

What about a "good guys" battle. In a lot of movies, there is one destinct good guy. Wouldnt it be cool if there was a battle "Van Hellsing Vs Arucard from Hellsing the Anime" (with an abbreviated title -_-). I think ti would work. Id certainly participate in this one, as i would actually KNOW something about some of the combatants.

Yea, but who doesn't know the x-men, hulk, spiderman, batman, superman, justice league, captian america, wonderwoman, etc.

I know who they are, and maybe a little bit about them, but I'm not a buff like with video games. There's a very LARGE difference in my games knowledge and my comics knowledge.

I know of them, i have no idea what most of their special abilities and limitations are.

Yeah, well I've never even played half the games I put arguements in during the last tournament, but that didn't stop me from doing a 3 minute google to find out a few facts.
Comic book characters bring a shit load of characters to the table, and I think it would be the best option.

Most of which can't die, that's why we have comic book series and not comic novels.

I personally wouldn't have any issues with another video game tournament. Then again, I also really like the comic characters idea. My only beef is that I think there are substantially fewer comic nerds on this forum than there are video game nerds.
I think the three best bets are on more video games, comics or anime. Movies and books, not so much.

I chose movies and it's a good thing nobody else seems to agree with me except that lone person.

Comic book characters simply wouldn't work, they are all too strong, most of them never die, and if they do they find some way to come back even stronger. The only weakness I can remember for any comic book character was kryptonite for superman.
This is a gaming forum, a games tournament would work a ton better and make more sense, and more people know about games than comics.

Every comic book character can die. Even Superman died. The only reason he came back was to boost sales...

I've never seen a comic where every hero but 1 died.
Still doesn't change the fact that this is a gaming forum, most people here know a ton more about games than comics, and the poll is showing what it should be.

The x-men have died several times. Green lantern has died, same with daredevil. When someone dies though, you can't make money off of them anymore.
I remember there was this comic book series that went like marvel vs. dc. Where it pitted marvel and dc characters against each other.

That actually means nothing. The reason there isn't a comic book where everyone dies is because characters have their own separate issues. Like I said, I'm all for another video game tournament, but we exhausted the good characters already. There are plenty of comic book characters we can introduce that many people would be plenty knowledgable in.
Start naming some video game characters we can still use, non-duplicated of course.

There have probably been 100 times more game characters than comic book characters.

Alright, then:

How much more can I possibly say?

Okay, King that's enough bickering about comics characters not being able to die and such. Raziel techically can't die either, and we came up with a rule to work around that.
And Titus, if I was solely responsible for deciding the roster of another video game tounrament, I could easily come up with a full two or three tournament brackets of usable, non-duplicate characters. There's no such thing as a shortage in that regard.
These things shouldn't even be the basis of determining the nature of the next tournament. Member knowledge is the most important factor, and after seeing the staggering amount of participation that the last tournament broght in, I don't see why comics are completely out of the question.

That was a games tournament on a GAMING forum, just imagine how comics would be.

Well, someone even made mention a few months back that Zelaron isn't much of a gaming forum anymore. It's more of a weird off-topic community. Sure the highest traffic volume comes from D2, but the D2 section is almost like a completely separate entity from the rest of the forum.
Either way, I don't see what a comic tournament could harm. It can't be much less active than the video game competition we just finished.
Eh, but none of that really matters. The theme will be decided upon by the community.

Alright, lets start up another video game tournament then. I guess I will judge again, being as I'm sure I won't know many of the characters. Lets get the show on the road!
