Personally, I think when you love someone, it is unconditional. Take the general meaning of what most would consider love, and make that unconditional. That's how I think of it.

It matters not whether you win or lose; what matters is whether I win or lose.

Love is...Love. Other than that it's completely indescribable. No other terms could ever come close to what Love represents.
But...I'll try, I suppose.
Love is a flood of nervousness, anxiety, happiness, fear, sadness, desire, confusion, and pain all balled up in the pit of your stomach as you look into the eyes of your beloved. Love is glorious, and yet at the same time it's tormenting. Love is both Blessed and Damned at the same time.
Very optimistic, aren't I? For the rest of you who can't comprehend what I said above:
Love is babies, kittens, and the black widow that watches patiently from her dark corner, waiting to prey on the unfortunate.

Love is extreme caring for someone only to happen between MAN AND WOMEN!!!!!!!!!
What love are we talking here?
At the level of platonic love I would say if you really loved someone, you could make a sacrifice for them that would seriously impact your life. You would also remain as a friend even if they're scorned by other people.

Love is a liking, a liking so strong and permanent you feel it..
You feel its permanence and you never expect it to go away.
It's like loving your mother.. it's not going away nomater what.. well same thing with anything else you love. it just doesnt go away...
well thats the only thing i can describe about it :p the rest is up to the beholder :p

Love is caring about someone enough to put their needs before your own.
I've gotta disagree on that one. It's certainly a chivalrous notion, but not an entirely realistic one. If I love a girl, am I supposed to take a second job and never attend college in order to help pay for her tuition? Am I supposed to sacrifice everything I need in order to fulfill the needs of the one I love?
Like I said, it's a noble thing to say, but life doesn't really work like that. You have to take care of your own corner first before you can start passing out help to others.

A deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness.
A feeling of intense desire and attraction toward a person with whom one is disposed to make a pair; the emotion of sex and romance.
An intense emotional attachment, as for a pet or treasured object.
Personally, look upon love as a natural drug, which can give you so strong affections toward someone that you want to tear down the walls when or if you can't see the person. It's an addiction, with emotional repercussion. Similarly to how you can get addicted to Heroine and Cocaine simultaneously, you can have strong affections toward multiple persons ad interim, despite what religious morals say.
I would say if you truely loved her you would, but if she loved you she wouldnt let you. If she would let you then you know she dosen't and shouldnt be with her... so you shouldn't be in the position

The extent to which you put the person's needs above your own depends on the type and extent of love; also consider that if she loved you in return, that she wouldn't let you do that because she cares about your need to attend collage. Also consider the mutual need for time together. In a one-sided love, the condition you express could certainly occur, but not if the love is mutual.
