Shadowbane help

[Medieval Bob]

I'll be trying out Shadowbane in a week or so. I've decided to play a Shade and work to Wererat or a Half-Giant and work to Werebear. Can anyone reccomend big-strong-fighter over little-stealthy-stabbity-guy or vice versa? Reasons and explination please.
