This is the first time that my TI-83 Plus has given me any problems. I've had it for about three years now, and it has worked flawlessly.

About a week ago, I was playing baseball on my calculator. When I quit, I got a message that said my batteries were getting low. I didn't think much of it, and just figured I would get around to replacing them once I got new batteries. A few hours later, I played some more games on my calculator. This time, the game randomly stopped, and it told me

Waiting...

Please install calculator software now.

and faded, then turned off.

I figured replacing the batteries would solve the problem. As soon as I could get some new triple A batteries, I put them in my calculator, expecting it to be just fine and dandy like it had been for the past few years. It didn't work out quite as I had planned. It still gives me that same message, and fades, then turns off.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong with it? Having a graphing calculator is a requirement for Algebra, and Chemistry, and I can't figure out how to get this damn thing working. I need help as soon as possible. If you have any idea on what might be wrong, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

That really sucks. I try not to play too many games on mine, and if it says low batteries I change them then. Check the texas instruments website I guess.

Check if your backup battery is full. MAYBE, just maybe that has something to do with it. Sounds like you have to reinstall the callculator software.

Hit "download" by your calculator. It'll tell you to log on - use [email protected], password zelaron. From there, it should be easy to figure out..
