You, need a gig of ram. I, need a new computer.

Avg alienware gaming computer: $2,400.00
Amt i have saved up so far: $1,100.00

UNtil that balances out, NO RAM FOR YOU!

Don't get an Alienware Sov... my friend got one and he regrets it. Instead just build your own from the best of the best parts and you could probably build one equal to the Alienware for the amount of money you have currently saved. Also, get an nVidia video card because ATI has too many problems.

Alienware definitely sucks. I remember in other forum this guy named off his shitty ass specs then added it was an Alienware... and everybody started going "sweet, you got an alienware!, leet, etc..." (yes, they SAID ETC!!!) Rs... most people here have no clue how to begin to build a computer... (as easy as it is...)

Also, I hate people that say "I WANT AN ALIENWARE SOOO BADLY!" Just ask them... what do you like about it? The case?

Damn if I'd pay over $2k for something I can throw together for under a thousand.

well, maybe a Mystery Bite pc. my friend has one and it cost him $2500 and he had as much ram and everything he could put into it. I would build a pc but my parents are like "This computer looks good" and stuff like that. although its only 1.8ghz processor. I think when i make enuff money i will build one or have someone build me one.

Dude... why the fuck are you listening to your parents when you are buying a computer for yourself? Tell them that they need to shut up because they don't know a goddamned thing about what they are talking about and that if they so much as open their mouths again you are going to break both of their jaws. My mother and father both understand that I know a great deal more about technology than they do and let me do my own thing. My dad even pays me to do stuff for him sometimes.

I built myself a 2.6 system for a little under $400. Whoo. Buy me a quarter-gig of DDR, please. I need a reward for being thrifty.

Or poor.

Whatever.

see the thing is, they a]dont buy a pc for me, they bought one for their selfs which i use way more. They look at the price to much, not specs. Plus, im not that friggin big, no way i could break their jaws. Im little over 5'2". but yea, i will custom one in a few years if i can afford.

You can build a system at least two or three times faster than any floor PC for the same price. Show your parents a comparison between whatever floor model they plan on buying and the same computer built on newegg.com or TigerDirect.

Jesus Christ. All of you stop whining and go get a job. An Emachines Laptop and a FX-51 based computer I built myself are the fruits of my labor.

Its a laptop....i have no clue how to build a laptop. i have no iea how to build a PC as well.

Its not solely for gaming either. Im going to college in 2 years and need a portable computer to easily move around. SO basically i want a computer that is mobile, and play games.

So unless someone can find me a step by step instruction manuel on how to build your own laptop, im stuck with the alienware. As it has everything i need.

That 8lb behemoth of a notebook computer isn't going to be particularly comfortable to lug around in college.

You know what's funny, when I offer to build people systems FOR NO FEE, they still go with prebuilt garbage. They say "I can get a warranty". Fucking fools! They could get a whole extra computer and still save money by going the DIY route.
