2 was to easy and was just about style... 1 was actually somewhat of a challenge.

1 pwned 2's ass. one was a challenge and took a lot longer to beat then two which could be done in a day easily.

Never played 2, but I own 1 and it's a blast. I've heard nothing but bad things about 2.

Here are something people say about DMC2:
"Devil May Cry 2 sucks."
"The cameras are the worst in DMC2."
"Dante isn't really Dante in DMC2."
"DMC2 is a huge disappointment."
It's not just about the difficulty... I can easily beat (Normal) DMC1 within hours, (Of course, Must Die mode is harder. Much Harder. I had to retry for about an hour just to get a feel on the last encounter with Nelo Angelo. I have given up the Straight S plan on Must Die mode...)
Dante's personality has been changed, and his weapon, namely Ifirts, has been taken away, instead he is given swords. 3 different swords, but all of them have the same moves.
I didn't beat Dante Must Die mode on DMC2 though, because of some cheap bosses... the three heads thing. And some of the ultra-lengthy stages are tiresome as well.

definanlty 1
I've never played either one, but since half the people in this thread have biased opinions I figure I'd say that they both suck!

If you have a playstation 2 it would be a good idea to rent the first one. Then you could buy it if you liked it.

Maybe the 2nd game does but i wouldn't know cuz i never played it but i know i like the first game. It is only good if u like adventure type games with RPG elements mixed with a little Resident Evil style items and weapons.

RPG elements in Devil May Cry...? You mean... the using Red Orbs to buy items and moves?
Like I've said... two isn't worth playing, it does nothing but ruin the image of Dante, and ruin the series.

The Red Orbs thing isn't RPG related, for the love of christ, "pimpiroth". Arg! I've had enough of this sort of bullshit!!

Matt never said that it was the red orbs that gave it RPG elements. If anything the blue orbs make it more like an RPG and the fact you can save up red orbs to buy abilities.

NO.
Why aren't you happy with the fact that Devil May Cry is a great Action game?
Dan XIII

I am happy with that. Why aren't you happy that it has RPG elements?
Senesia

Argh... not the "That's just your opinion" argument...

Why do people like to throw the term "RPG elements" around?

Sorry. I said it had RPG elements,I didn't say it was an RPG. Let's see:you gain
life(HP) as you collect orbs which goes into the increasing stats category: you collect weapons to equip. You gain abilities throughout the game. This doesn't make it an RPG I just said it had RPG Elements which means it is RPG-like

Then games such as Megaman and OniMusha are RPG-like as well?
...No.

Devil May Cry does not have RPG elements. Yes, you can use blue orbs to increase your maximum life. YOU CAN DO THE SAME FUCKING THING IN BANJO-KAZOOIE WITH HOLLOW HONEYCOMBS. Banjo-Kazooie does not have RPG elements. Neither does Devil May Cry.
Yes, you can collect new weapons to equip in DMC. YOU CAN DO THE SAME DAMNED THING IN MEGA MAN. Mega Man does not have RPG elements. Neither does Devil May Cry.
Banjo-Kazooie is a 3D platformer. Mega Man is a shooter/platformer. DMC is an action game, for the love of Crap.

Since my oppinion about it is unappreciated I will stop expressing it just to keep Raziel from having Hypertension.

There's not much of an opinion to have about the matter. Your argument sucks, Senesia's argument is solid. Senesia's argument makes sense, yours is grasping for straws. That's all there is to it.
