As long as we NEVER EVER EVER have bless deeds for items, yes, I think they're a great addition.

No one will get a verite or valorite runic for a really long time likely, and even if they do it'd be insanely expensive.

Runics began the decline of UO. Ask warriors and mages alike, runics were shit. Atm, it is very common for a short spear to hit upwards of 30dmg.



But if they are introduced, which will probably cue my resignation from Acropolis, I don't think they will be that popular because you can buy Vanqs for 3k. Like I said though, Enter runics, Exit Kyuss. :(

expect magic weapon/armor spawn to be less common for getting high end stuff soon anyawys, runics or not.

I don't see how runics cued the decline of UO. I had a character without a weapon skill and ended up having many many runics lying in my house/bank. They weren't really overpowered. Gold was the best people would cart around without blessing it, pretty much, and that isn't much better than a vanq weapon. If there was someone walking around with a val runic, and it wasn't blessed, they'd be ganked in a second. Val weapons don't protect you from being combo'd by 4 people. :/

I don't see how they unbalanced the game at all, nor marked the decline of the game, besides ringing in AoS with it's item based crap.

As long as you have a decent connection it was skill > equipment, even if it was a runic.

Runics are like giving a person in a first-person shooter auto-aim with a high-caliber sniper rifle... Click, Follow, Kill, Repeat.

I honestly only died because of a runic once. Blessed Val Spear, first hit para blow. I was killed by runics other times, but that's because I was bested, either I was stupid and didn't heal myself when I should have, or let off an explosion potion at the wrong time, or generally just died because of low mana or a few good hits.

But again, it was only once BECAUSE of the runic.

On OSI, how many times did you die as a direct result of a runic, where there was nothing you could do to prevent it?

Pika killed me in two seconds with a val short spear, many times. If he got 2 para blows you were dead.

Well, once these dumbass runics are voted in, everyone will wish they had not asked for 'em. Tank mages will be uber, warriors will no longer have to use skill (somewhat) and tactics to fight.... Piss on it

i for one, think runics will unbalance the shard, i would rather not have them...
