i got an ati radeon 9800xt and i've got no idea how i change it from 4 agp to 8 agp :( anyone can tell me how to change it? :P
Go to CMOS when the comp first starts up ( tap delete like 30 times till the blue screen pops up , when you restart ) Then go to Advanced Features, (i think) then There should be a place where it says something about your AGP you can usually hit +/- to change it.
1) It's BIOS
2) If your motherboard isn't recent then it won't support 8x AGP.
3) It doesn't make a huge difference because current AGP cards barely make use of 4x AGP

Ok, since the 9800xt came with drivers install those and it installs your video card control panel. Go to:
Right Click on Desktop
Properties
Settings Tab
Advanced
Then you'll see all the options for your video card settings...
Go to SmartGart(tm) tab...
then you see the options there to set the AGP speed... and that should be it...
If you dont have the drivers for your card you can get them for XP here
