I play as protoss, and have played as protoss for quiet some time now. I dont do this anymore, but in the "old days" i used to play bgh quite a lot. Whenever i went up against a terran player, i aways was bombarded with massive amounts of bc's at a later point in teh game. I always wondered, what is the best way to get rid of these capital warships. I always used to psy storm them into oblivion. I think that works the best but what do you guys think?

If packed, stasis all then put archon, dragoon and High Templar near to strike when they come out of stasis.

If not packed stasis can still make the bc number lower. Then archon, dragoon and High templar can do the job.

In both situation the Arbitrer can be useful to avoid the attack unit to be killed. Well, at least long enought to get on the top of the battle.

I go BC's alot and I can tell you, the most devastating thing is getting statised and Maelstrom. Also, never statis the ENTIRE fleet, just half or so, destroy one half, the other half will get crippled. I remember seeing this Protoss do excellent micro against my BCs. He attacks my base while I invade his, then he statises, and recalls his offensive troops to defend my BCs, then recalls them back on offensive. Sorry to say this, but Corsairs just suck against BCs, they're useless like Scourge. (Dont care what any of you say, I had this guy with 50 hatches send scourge at me and they can't even wound a fleet of 15 BCs and 10 wraiths.) Scouts are good, especially if its BGH. (They have killer damage ATA and ATG.)

To bad that malestrom only works on biological units....

Anybody think if i combination of templars and archons would be any good? The archons go in and take the blunt of the bc's cannons, while the temps stay back and just storm the shit outa those gargantuan units.

damn it, forgot about that. I never got maelstromed, but I figured it would of worked just the same as Statis except you still get attacks in. Sorry =D. lol, forgot about the biological unit part. As for the Archons part, Templars are painful in large numbers (but you need alot since these BCs eat hits). Archons...they're effective if the BC's are in your base but if they're attack over the water of BGH, your archons are not getting near. Goons are really your only choice. Having a Terran ally going Goliaths would be useful right about here. Try Mind controlling also.

Edit: But then yeah, I guess you can use the archons to take the hits. But they'll only buy you so much time to storm, usually it isn't enough if the Terran player is skilled. (I know for one, my primary target are templars, I scan the base and use my yamato's to pick them off as they come close, kill as many as possible then fly out of the base a safe distance and pick things off. I think lots of Scouts with Templars are good (taking scouts are always good to have and templars are your backbone, so no real money and time waste.)

Maelstrom do not work on BC.

Maelstrom

Area of effect spell (same size as Ensnare) that will stun (cannot move or attack) all organic units for several seconds

NP mate =) Anyway, basically, I say the best way to go on High Money like BGH is to have some scouts. They're always handy to have and especially in large numbers especially with Storm Support and usually do well with your attacking force when not needed for BC defense. One tactic I do is fight with my normal ground units and leave a dozen scouts behind to defend my base, with a few corsairs for webbing if needed. They [Scouts ]defend fairly well, are fast in movement, have good defense / shielding and have a pretty good attack.

Hmm.. best way I can think of is do not let them tech to BC's. Harrass them constantly, works for me.

Best way = archons, aribiters, storm, corsairs, multi tasking

WIth the wriaths and scounds, one emp shockwave, and tehre goes the scouts shields and the wraiths energy for cloak. A comsat can also render the wraiths obsolete, asme wiht an acompanying science vessel

Ive played over 500 games on my sovereign- account. 100 of those at least were againts terran, almost all of them had sci ves's because i play protoss. They were worried about dts and obs in their basses i guess.
