Firrst, there was Starcraft. Then, came Brood War. With the coming of this expansion, many new and unique units were added to each of the races' arsenal. What do you think was the most infulential unit added?

For the Protoss race, a new air and a new melee unit was added. Now, players could use the power of the almighty Corsair to desruption web key defensive points to allow for an easy takeover. The stealth assasins of teh Dark Templar are now available to wreak havoc on those who dare to establish a base wihtout cloaked unit detectors. When the time is right, these two silent warriors can merge permanently to form the powerful Dark Archon. Now not only do you have a good unit to stop zerg players in there track (malestrom), but you can mind control one of your enemies own units and use his very own race to pummel him into submission!

The ravenous zerg swarm also has new DNA assimilated into its essence. This new DNA helped evolve the lurker. The zerg no longer have to worry about the pesky people who mass marines. The battlehardened marines just can't seem to get any slack, can they. The new heavy air support unit that is added is teh mosterous Zerg Devourer(sp?). Now, everytime the opponents of the zerg see Guardians, chances are these new, powerful beasts are not to far behind.

The ever-expanding terran empire, not to be outdone, added two new units of their own to their ranks. HTe Valkyrie(sp?) was added to teh group of already existant, powerful air units. All grouped air units that dare go up against teh terrans better beware of the volley of missiles hat these powerful units will hurl at them. The helpful Medic is also added to the ranks of the Terran foot infantry. Now, marines that at one point would be permanentl injured have a second chance to heal and to be restored to there full power form.

In my opinion, the most infulential unit out of all of those formentioned is the Protoss Corsair. Because of the Corsair's destruption web, protoss players no longer had to waste unit after unit trying to get thorugh terran tank/goliath waslls. Just d-web the mofo's and destroy them. This is also very helpful when you are being tank pushed by a terran player. Just d-web the tanks and run in with the zelaots. The splash ability of the COrsair attack is also good. Suure its inital damge is a sma.ll number, only five per hit, but the spash damagae could make the total damgage done to enemy units in one shot significantly higher. What do you guys say?

I'd have to agree with you. The protoss' crossair, all you have to do is 'd-web' 'em and waste 'em.

Well i think meds and corsair.....Medics i luv their optical flare and healing capabilities and the sair D web and splash dmg. I went against 12 carriers and i had 12-15 sairs pretty much wiped the whole carrier unit out coz they were in a close bunch.

Meh, corsairs are purely air, and very weak, medics, imo, make marines viable in the game.

ACtualy, what makes brood war so good is that every race got similar strength units. med/sair/dt/gol range/ valks/ devourers and lurkers made the game fair. U couldnt dare to go only rine with terran in sc, and zerg could just go mute harass and win the game. but now if they mute harass terran can just med/rine or make 3 valks to make the other guy pissed. and toss can go sair. It just made the game ALOT more interesting and hard =] so basicly, evrything in bw is a significant change, even the dark archons, tough they arent used alot.

:confused: I dont know about the rest of you but...I've been hit by swarms of guardians, and marines just can't do the job right over cliffs, gols dont last long, and mutas always keep pestering my wraiths from slaughtering them. Valkyries is a major add on. Bleh, EMP the carries, fly some valkyries in and we're talking about a protoss with a 'red' fleet by the time your valks are toasted. Zerg swarm problem? Heh, dont you just love to do a Valkyrie anti-lord sweep on em, they have to waste another 1k for another batch of 10 lords (while your repairing your valks and preparing for a second run). I dont know, just me I guess, I love Valks. Plus Valks with the Vulture mine / Tank Combo can seriously do numbers on zergs. (or atleast I've noticed it did)
