Please post your honest, thought-out opinions about the moderators and administrators here at Zelaron Gaming Forums. Please have good reasons and don't say anything that you aren't certain is true. You can discuss any of the admins or mods, but no flaming. I'd like to see an intelligent and helpful discussion, not a blabbering shit-fest. I know I can't moderate this because it isn't in Off-Topic, but I trust the Supreme Moderators and Administrators to clean out the cold-hearted flames and useless comic quips.
This thread is to benefit the forums by letting the moderators and administrators know what they are doing wrong and what they are doing right. If we know what we're doing wrong, we can fix it.

Chruser - Does a great job of news, Also he is inactive and still keeps zelaron uptodate.

Titusfied - Takes alot of crap from 4 idiots from zelaron.

All the rest do a good job also.

I don't agree with that though. I take opinions from everyone seriously. The problem is, there are not many serious opinions. If there were actually something that could contribute to the growing of Zelaron, I am all for hearing it, regardless of whether or not you are staff.

I think that all of the moderators do their job here, but kuja's#1. NonGayMan Keeps everything running fine in the Gaming Sections. Titusfied does a good job with what he does. Crusher and LiveWire did a great job with this site.

About serious opinions... If anyone has an opinion, feel free to voice it. But just by saying "I don't like it", "This sucks", "You suck" aren't going to help too much. Suggest something and back it up with some reasons (show some grounds..), so that the staff can actually discuss the issue.

This is like the 5th thread about admins and mods. No one really cares. This site has been sitting with the same useless crap for over a year now. It will never expand anymore then it is has already. How many of you actually benefit out of here? I mean you come here at first for a free dupe, you don't get it. So you stick around thinking one will come. Then one day a dupe comes out and its patched before you get to use it. Now you feel your forced to stick around and Spam like everyone else does.

The only thing this Zelaron has going is a good laugh at Gravs Comments. That's about it. Everyone knows that Chruser is some 17 year old Swedish kid that is doing something with porn and Japan. WetWired is some God coder that should be making some $$$$$ with the work he does, and hmmm... That's about it. The other admins from what I understand don't do much but act almighty cause they have three little arrows under there name. Its kinda pointless to argue. Plus 85% of people reading this thread wont read this far.

I've always questioned forums that have many Admins. Its not really needed if you ask me. I mean you got the Owner, And maybe the designer. Just always thought anything more then 2 Admins was a lot of trust to give out. Unless its a professional company hired for work.

Its not that your not trusted Titus. Just i dont see the point of so many admins and such. I mean lets be serious and i'll use you as an example. What have you done to the site right now that you couldnt have done as a Sen Mod? You can open/close Copy/Move any thread you like as a Sen Mod, and you still have the power to ban members. So unless your doing site improvments such as, coding, desgining, or ading features/hacks. Then there really isnt the need for so many Admins. Titus wrote a long PM to WW about improvements he would like to see. WW talked to Chruser about it(I believe) and they both agreed that Titus would be good for an admin position. Titus didn't ask for the position, they offered it. I agree with their choice.

While we're on the subject, to the people who think I got my position just because I'm titus's friend, that's complete BS. The person who was modding the off topic section before me wasn't nearly as active enough as someone who mods the off topic section should be(Wiccan.) I'm one of the most active mods here, and the job was perfect for me. At the time the off topic section was getting out of hand and needed someone to be watching it almost all the time. Titus suggested to Chruser and WW that I should be modded, they both agreed it would be a good idea, so Titus made a thread in the ad-mod forum asking what the staff thought about it. I don't exactly remember who was against it, but there weren't many people.

Example: Zelaron Melee. This is a brand new feature on this forum. It's designed to stimulate conversation and debate, and it is nearly barren of activity aside from my constant updates. On top of that, people have been brainstorming ways to increase activity in the Starcraft Forum, Titus has been refining the way the entire forum functions constantly and there has been a lot of other activity that either you simply don't see or refuse to see.

What do you expect from this place? Do you want us solving murder mysteries and fighting terrorism? Do you want us constructing a giant nuclear-powered octopus to take over manhattan? This is a fucking online forum. If you want something revolutionay and exciting, move to Saturn.

Hmmm, well I think the best answer to all this is. One get rid of the starcraft forum. Its pointless and it's not a very active game anymore. Everquest! Well, theirs a game that seems to be dominating the gaming industry. I think if we get enough content on the forum it should be very active. I mean the game is played and sold more then Diablo 1 2 and LOD combined

Before i spend ANY more time writing here, i want to know. Will ANYONE from the admin and mod read this and take anything seriously. Be honest staff of zel, don thave people waste there time writing shit if your not even gonna read it or look into it.

Being admin is more of a trust issue then anything else. Being the best coder in the world, wont get you an admin job if you arnt trusted. But someone who cant code, can get an admin job if they are trusted. If the 'shit hits the fan' in any number of ways, the admin who gets on first solves it. If theres 4 admins, they have 4 times the chance of catching it earlier then 1 admin does. Not to mention admins are the ones who will dish out their real life money and time to the site or whatever. Generally admins are the ones that actully care about the project/site/forum and they care about the community and they understand it and want it to prosper. Chruser knows I care for zel, I wouldent be admin if I diddnt. Although I am a bit inactive lately, I am waiting for a project or something coming up, maybe something to do with building the site more or the portal or something. There is still work going on behind the scenes to improve zelaron that most of you have no idea about. Everything from themes, bug fixing, feature additions, php coding, designs, researching and so on. A lot of the smaller things admins do are unnoticed, maybe wetwired makes a small code change in the theme, or titus updates a rules thread to change some words around or something.

Also I dont think anyone has a right to complain unless they are helping the community. Just by being here and posting dosent give you an excuse to complain, unless your working, making threads that help new members, or doing something usefull, then you need to shutup. People shouldent bitch about stuff not being done when they are not willing to help themselvs. If you were smart and cared about zelaron, and you really thought more needed to be done, youd do it the smart way, and apply for a mod spot and do all you can to help. Hate isent random. You must have done something in the past or said something in the past, or maybe your attitude sucks. Either way, everyone who comes to zelaron starts with a clean slate, what you do with that slate is up to you.

Actually most of the staff (Or all of the staff) agree that K_A should be modded again, because he is a very active member and he will get the Off-topic Section.

So what is wrong with Flame forum having 3 mods? Do they mess things up? Do they make any mistake? But the reason why Flame, Lit, and Web design has 3 mods is because Robotic S. and !K_A! are moderators of the entire Off-topic section.

If you use Ocean style, you won't see Mantra and Raziel's name on the Off-topic because it doesn't expand. I don't see a huge problem with that.

Then don't just talk to the administrators on the board. Talk to any of the staff members. My PM box hasn't exactly being overflowing with help and ideas to improve the forum. Send me a couple. Send anyone a couple of ideas. And if they are even reasonably valid, I will bring them up in the ad-mod forum. Though you can already access it, its always good to have more onboard. Just talk to me, dude. I'll help you out with some of the issues you wish to see resolved.

You dont post in off-topic so basicly the name that show on off-topic is because they mod every forum in off-topic.

Usually, when we decide to moderate a member of the offtopic forum, we usually give him/her all of the forums. So they could all be run equally, with the same rules.

Well.. I know off the top of my head that he's added smilies to the forum, as well as posting his provactive "giraffe attack" comic books or whatever that was. Even if he doesn't appear to be doing much that you can see, isn't it better to be doing nothing well then to be doing something and pissing people off? I don't think there's a single person really mad at penguin in this forum, and that's something, at least. Do you honestly think you could do better as an admin? Fine you want me to try to list everything ive done? ..... God if you wernt chrusers friend.....Grr... Btw Randuin, If I am going to do this, I want you to list why your still here and why it was worth it to beg chruser to let your ass stay and you better put as much fucking time in it as im about to with this shit you want me to do.

Lets start at the beggining (And then slowly trail off randomly since I dont remember the exact order of things). I donated 50 dollars to zelaron before I was an admin. I knew and was friends with all of the admins (at this point I was a supreme mod). Anyway, Everyone pretty much trusted me so I talk to chruser about it. Im made admin. Now I dont know how many bans ive done in my life here as an admin, probably a shitload. I have traced numerous IPs and Hostnames to prevent banned people from signing up again, and so on. I created the Activity Forum in Admin and Mod. I have added NUMEROUS features to zelaron throughout the time, even tho most of them arnt used anymore. The older games with that small chatroom, our radio station. I have listened and helped shitloads of people on aim who just needed an admin or someone to talk to because they were pissed. I have created rules threads and those important stickys in numerous forums. I have contributed ideas based on all major additions and improvments to zelaron. I have offered help with the portal project / gaming site, but it hasent taken off yet. I have helped chruser, xenn and taco numerous times in the past with a huge variety of things. I have gotten people unbanned that shouldent have been banned. I have given people second chances, who turned around and became good members. I have helped with adding Smilies and Tags to the forum. I ran that flame contest and paid the winner money for winning. I have made lots of mods and created more forums for zelaron. I have banned people that tried to ruin the board, and even some hack attempts. I have helped keep peace between cheatlist and zelaron back in the days of forum wars. I have gotten Zelaron listed in a German Gaming magazine. I have tried to help get the irc active, back in the day. I cant even remember the smaller things I have done everyday from temp bans, to warnings over private messaging, to just helping chruser with something he needed. There are probably a lot of things Im missing and I could probably just ask chruser and he could name a few off the top of his head but hes not on.

I have done more for zelaron than You, Randuin, Could have ever done for zelaron. Unlike you, I actully care for this community and If I had my way, You would have been banned long ago. I remember conversations with chruser where we both knew you should have been banned but chruser gives you way too many chances, probably more then grav. The hell it doesn't. Without members being here, there would be no zelaron. When any member seems to complain on my forums about something. I take it VERY seriously, and will do what it takes to fix and make that member happy. I actually want my members to complain and tell me what's wrong with the site and ect... That way the problem can be resolved fast, quick, and easy. Then the site will be most enjoyable for everyone. The more the members are happy the longer they stick around. I think CP is doing rather well with over 70,000 Hits this month so far alone. And we have only been open a few months. Why? Well, Me and the owner spend countless amount of money and hours on the site. And we wont be happy till everyone on the Internet has had a good experience at cp. So don't ever say that Just by being here and posting doesn't give you an excuse to complain. That gives you every excuse to complain.

Well.. I know off the top of my head that he's added smilies to the forum, as well as posting his provactive "giraffe attack" comic books or whatever that was. Even if he doesn't appear to be doing much that you can see, isn't it better to be doing nothing well then to be doing something and pissing people off? I don't think there's a single person really mad at penguin in this forum, and that's something, at least. Do you honestly think you could do better as an admin? I'm an Admin at CP.org, we have three Admins. One is the owner, Then myself coding, updating, adding features, fixing links, and so on. And a professional company that needed the Admin access to work on a few things we paid for. Once he's services are no longer needed, he will no longer be an Admin. Then we will just have two. And I know I could do better cause I'm a dedicated worker and this is what I love doing. And I'm never inactive on plans for my site. Reason why I'm bringing this up is because with anymore then 2 Admins, you tend to bump into problems. Example, if my forums had 4 Admins and they were all trying to fix the same thing at once, the code will eventually get deleted, duped, or just slightly messed up. That's why when there is something the needs to be fixing, a mod or the owner will point it out to me and I will go in and fix it. That why I know where all the code is, and if there's a problem with something somewhere then I will know where to go to fix it cause I'm the one who originally coded it.



And I also have to agree with Kuja. I really haven't seen any change since Titus has been Admin, besides banning members for personal or just ridiculous reason. But that can be saved for another thread.

Well, numerous issues have come up, and I'm glad they have. Opinions in this thread are taken seriously, so don't think they aren't. I just wish everyone would get their heads out of their asses and start posting more facts to back up their opinions, like LiveWire did.

I like how he had his opinion, then stated why he thought that way and what he would do to fix it. He didn't just say, "I think Titus is doing a bad job," and leave it at that. Although he surely has shown his distaste for me as an Admin, at least I can respect where he is coming from. The fact of the matter is, there are 4 Admins because we all take on separate roles. Sure, if it was just Chruser and WW, things would still operate fine, but there have been many instances already where input form either myself or Penguin have drastically changed the opinions and outcomes of something those two would have decided upon. In any case, Chruser and WW have more permissions than myself and Penguin, so in a sense, they are like Super Admins, but without the title. There are certain things we don't have access to, such as direct access to the coding, but that doesn't mean we don't do anything Admin worthy. Expanding this place, keeping it organized, keeping up with CP maintenance, backing up the database incase of something catastrophic, etc. are all duties we pull. Having 4 Admins makes everyone's job easier here, not just ours.

I love the fact that Kuja posts quotes of mine from the Flame Forum, as if they have any base in this thread. Obviously, he took everything I said in there seriously, and he should be ostricized for that alone. ;)

I keep hearing people talk about how I've banned for no real good reason, etc. but the truth is, I haven't. Every ban gets passed by the Staff before made. Opinions are taken, and if someone doesn't think they deserve the ban, then it doesn't happen. Sure, there are some instances where it is a clear cut case of deserving a ban, in which case I will do so automatically, but I report my actions right away. If proper evidence is given for them to be unbanned, I do so, no problem.

There are many opinions in here that are just that, opinions. LiveWire has stated many things that I've already taken action and started discussion about amongst the Admins. Other things just have no base, and are not taken as seriously. Not because we don't respect you, but because you haven't shown enough reason why you feel that way. Some people have personal vendettas out against me, and I'm fine with that, but their hate towards me won't change anything unless they start acting mature about things and try to conduct themselves and their thoughts in a more organized, eloquent manner.

As for Titus and the other Admins... I think they have all made very wise decisions. They have shown that they are capable of doing extremely intelligent things here. Besides it has to be hard. Knowing that one litle thing can put you in the de-adminned home with Hendrix...

Regar5ding mods, I have no opinions. They do their jobs. They keep the forums they mod clean. That's their....our job. We do it.

As regarding that the staff don't care what users say, I have to say that is the biggest load of BS I've ever heard. EX-Mania and Titus are proof enough for that.

This is like the 5th thread about admins and mods. No one really cares. This site has been sitting with the same useless crap for over a year now. It will never expand anymore then it is has already. How many of you actually benefit out of here? I mean you come here at first for a free dupe, you don't get it. So you stick around thinking one will come. Then one day a dupe comes out and its patched before you get to use it. Now you feel your forced to stick around and Spam like everyone else does.

The only thing this Zelaron has going is a good laugh at Gravs Comments. That's about it. Everyone knows that Chruser is some 17 year old Swedish kid that is doing something with porn and Japan. WetWired is some God coder that should be making some $$$$$ with the work he does, and hmmm... That's about it. The other admins from what I understand don't do much but act almighty cause they have three little arrows under there name. Its kinda pointless to argue. So far the mods are doing a good job.I got warned for digging up an old thread but that was them doing their job.As far as mods go the only mods I don't like are the ones that abuse their power.At another forum site called final fantasy discovery because there were two mods named Black War and Kosai who hated me.They assumed I had 7 accounts because I told my friends about it and they all signed on.They banned me and all my friends because they assumed I was all of them.So far I haven't had any problems like that here.Keep up the good work mods and administrators.

I personally have no quarrels with any of the Mods/Admins/Other/ect that I've talked with. In fact, I think they're all pretty damn cool in their own ways.

And IMHO, it's rather inane to start a thread asking what people think of authority figures and not expect flames. It just tends to happen, no matter what medium it's in. There will always be people who dislike others who have more power than them for no other reason then just that: because they have more power. But some of those who have the power also can have a superiority complex.
