Okay, I've been a bit too lax about this for the last few battles, but now it has to end. I'm reinforcing the 24 hour time limit rule. If I don't have your argument by 24 hours, the tread is getting closed and the judges will decide based on whatever is there. If there are problems with that, then it's just too bad. Samus vs. Turok will be closed today, and the following battles will be alloted no more than 24 hours, and those rules will not be broken under any circumstances. This is mainly my fault, so I'm letting you all know that it is going to end effective immediately.

Don't expect many posts per thread then. If I were you, I'd say to post 2 or 3 each week, and have them go on all week.

Well, lets see how it goes for the the time being. We can't have too much time alotted per battle, each tournament would take way too long. Maybe more time will be alotted for each round after the first, but 24 hours for the first round seems reasonable to me.

I like the idea about more time per round. Sounds pretty fair.

Do you want to be the third judge uncapped?

I can't see him doing it, but it isn't my decision. So do whatever you want.

Nope, I'd rather be a participant.

I have seen Shinto and Titus participate. Only Rael does not participate. So if that's the only thing holding you back, go ahead.
Can I do it?

Kuja, you seem to passionate about the battles to be able to judge them.
I say we put a post limit and a time limit on them, and whichever is reached first, the thread then gets closed. That way, if the post limit is reached, you know people have said what they want to, and if the time limit is reached, they've said all they are going to say. This should eliminate the problems.

So? Me being so passionate should only add a point in my favor.
As to the time and post thing, its a great idea. It would also help eliminate spam Or maybe it would increase spam.

Kuja, you seem too passionate about certain combatants to be able to judge them.
There. Well, nothing wrong with being passionate, but if you have trouble staying neutral when looking at battles, it is better for you to not judge.
It is a good idea to enforce the time limit...and again, I know absolutely nothing about both characters in this match (Err...not really absolutely nothing...) to participate.

If someone is going to be a judge, they'd better know who all of the participants are, I certainly remember a post from Kuja's saying he didn't know anything about the characters (I believe in was in the Grey Fox vs. Tatsumaru battle)...

I think Senesia would make a good judge. Not knowing the participants would help you stay nuetral, since you would just base your vote on the arguements, which is the whole idea of this, right?

I would be a judge if needed, since I know absolutely none of the characters just about, and I suck at participating in the debates.

Well, If I'm able to to participate in it still(probably won't a lot until the later rounds), I'll do it, but if not, my answer still stays.

Alright then, you are the third judge. There is no problem whatsoever participating and being the judge, you just can't be biased totally. If you feel someone should win, but better arguements were given, you are obligated to go against yourself. Be fair is all.
Well, I don't know all the characters, and honestly, that makes it better to be a judge in that instance. Now, instead of having a pre-conceived notion of the who I think should win, I am forced to read everything and make a judgement based on the way we want a judgement to be made.

Okay, Uncapped, I guess the position is yours. I'll be expecting your decision on all matches at the appropriate time, regardless of battle inactivity. If you happen to be on one day, and you know you're not going to be on later that night when a particular match ends, give me your decision in a PM anyway, just so the match can be closed on time.

Well, I honestly don't think any type of post limit will ever be hit, so the time limit should be the only limiting factor. Even if a thread does get a lot of posts, that is better, so why limit it?

When I get my new hard drive in from Maxtor, I'd be willing to judge if needed. I won't be able to until either next week or the week thereafter though, reason being I simply don't have enough time to devote to it without having my own PC.
I'm in the lab upstairs now, but it's too inconvenient to come several times a day, as I usually do when I do have my computer running.
Anyhow, I'll try to be as active as I can until the time comes when... um.... when Fedex brings me my damn hard drive.

I actually really like this idea. I'm going to give it a shot and see if it increases activity at all. The next battle will be opened later tonight, and the following battle will be opened about two days from now. We'll test it for the preliminary matches, and then it will probably have to go back to normal once we hit the 2nd round.
