Actually, it's on a free site. ;)

Just copy the link. I'm still not sure how the creator did it. Neat trick, though.

It's actually pretty simple. There are certain pieces of information that your browser sends to the web server to help it send/generate the most appropriate content for the browsing platform. This, along with your IP is available to any scripts or CGI executables. Simple use of a graphic library yeilds a dynamicly generated image containing seemingly significant info about yourself.

I hope that I will understand what you say after I got my Computer science degree.

Translation, it generates your info out of server logs.

Plus a random thing holding up the sign? I've seen two in the last two minutes.

not realy any infromation about my computer. . .
That is NOT my ip. also i know how to mess these up,
dissable cookies and have a firewall (zonealarm) lock
down all connections to yo computer.

Firewall's don't work on it. It's using info that MUST be sent to the server.

Now, the IP might be one of a router down the line. It only shows my external IP.

And, yeah, the little guy and the saying are randomised.

Actually, only the IP is required info. A get request technically only requires the get line followed by the name of the server you're requesting the document from and two blank lines.

That's if you specified random text. But yes, just like how the zelaron vbstats work, this works the same way

RoboticSilence

Yep, it does. Router owns it here.

True words Randuin. I know how to code it, but finding a (cheap) server that would allow it is a different story.

Man, why do you act so fucking gay all the time... anyway,

Yeah, php/cgi can get your ip/info for server log statistics type info, or banning you/a range of ips and such, firewalls do not stop it, proxies do.
