Arena: Lost Warehouse - a poorly lit warehouse, approximately half the size of a football field. Wooden crates stacked at random heights, narrow steel catwalks hanging from the 30 foot ceiling, no exits.
In the Red Corner, wearing a stylish grey thermal bodysuit. Equipped with his trusty SOCOM semi-automatic pistol, Claymore Mines, Stinger Missile Launcher and so much more! The inferior genetic copy of Big Boss himself, the star of Metal Gear: Solid, Solid Snake!!!
And in the Blue Corner, covered in the traditional garments of ancient Japanese assassins. Geared up with his trusty katana, grappling hook, caltrops and the night itself as his weapon! The slayer of important Japanese statesmen, the harbinger of silent death, the ninja protagonist of Tenchu: Stealth Assassins, Rikimaru!!!
It's old-school stealth versus new-school stealth in this battle of wits and silence. Will Rikimaru's blade reach Snake's throat before the bullets begin to fly? Or will Snake's weaponry too easily give away his location to the crafty ninja? Only you can decide...

With his incredibly heightened sense of awareness and his superior stealth skills, Rikimaru would surely defeat Solid Snake. Even with his stealth camo, Snake would be easily heard by Rikimaru. Hiding on the ceiling waiting to drop on the cautious Snake, Rikimaru would kill him without him even knowing about it. And in the event that Snake happens to catch Rikimaru off guard with a bullet to the face, it doesn't matter. There are two of him ( Rikimaru and his shadow ) and while Snake is celebrating his "victory," the real Rikimaru will step from the shadows and slice the poor guy's head off. Snake's claymores are useless( Rikimaru's perception is uberhigh ), his Stinger's targeting is useless( Rikimaru is too fast ), his gun is pretty much useless( see previous two reasons ). It would be a good battle, but ultimately, the real ninja wins.

Rikimaru, for sure. His amazing stealth skills will be no match for Solid Snake's SOCOM pistol, and before he could let a shot off he would be impaled through the chest. His claymore mines would most likely prove to be of little to no use, as Rikimaru's awareness skills would keep him far from them. It would be a quick and simple battle, and as much as I like Solid Snake, he wouldn't stand a chance. Match over.

Rikimaru due to his superior perception and style, plain and simple. Solid Snake doesn't stand a chance.

I'd like to see the reasons those three people think Snake would win... we haven't seen ANYONE post about Snake winning yet.
It s probably called voting for character they prefer whitout even knowing what the thread is about.

Okay, I'm not going to allow a decision to be made on this battle unless we get more people posting reasons for why they think a particular character would win. There are nine votes for Rikimaru and only two actual explanations. This battle will remain in limbo until I see more enthusiasm, people.

Solid Snake fires wildly at Rikimaru, but he knows he won't be able to hit him, so he's trying to win time. Rikimaru evades his bullets and suddently disappears behind a wooden crate. Solid Snake runs away from the scene and climbs a ladder to get a better overview, but when he gets up, he can't see anyone. All of a sudden, someone pats Snake on his back, and as he turns around, his head gets sliced off.
Rikimaru was playing a cat and mouse game with him all along.

Solid Snake stands waiting against the wall. He peaks his head around the wall to see nothing but stacked crates. He knows his enemy is in there somewhere. He lightly taps the wall two times and immediately dissapears into some crates. He peaks out to see the ninja drop from the ceiling. Landing directly on a claymore mine. BOOM! He is wounded but not dead. He limps into the corner to attempt to tend to his wounds. Snake peaks a large cannon through the hole in the crate he is on. He launches a stinger missle. He looks on the guns screen and directs the missle straight up into the air. He sends it along the ceiling and then sends it straight down on top of the ninjas head. Blam! Game over.
(Yea rikimaru would probably win but i had to support my hero snake XD )

I would like to sincerely thank everyone for genuinely participating in this battle. Hopefully more people will begin to find an interest in discussion, such as this. But, I digress.

And this brings a belated end to Zelaron Melee Battle #2! Both Titus and myself have made our decisions, giving 2/3 of the vote to one of our weary contestants! Check the Bracket Thread to find out who will be advancing, and who will spend the night crying themself to sleep...
