The Zelaron staff is gearing up for the first in a series of character battle tournaments. We need character suggestions though. We would appreciate it if the regular member base provided suggestions for various video game characters to engage in the upcoming massacre. Throw out as many as you want, but understand that the final 20 (maybe less, maybe more) will be decided on by the staff, as well as their initial fight pairings. If there is any particular character or characters that recieve an outstanding amount of support, then they will most likely end up competing. Give us everything you've got!

Okay, if you're suggesting a character with a rather vague name (Shadow, for example) you need to specify the game you're referring to. I assume you're talking about the ninja Shadow from FF6.

Guys, I'm not counting cross-genre characters here. If they started as comic characters, movie characters or TV characters but have appeared in video games, I'm not going to allow them. There will be future tournaments designed specifically for different genres, and eventually we'll begin mixing genres. As for right now, we're talking about video game characters.

If we're talking about longstanding video game characters (i.e. Link, Mario, Sonic, etc.) there doesn't need to be any distinction between "which version" of the character is being used. If Link is entered into the contest, we'll simply assume that he has all of his abilities at his disposal from every game.

Now, if we're talking about Mega Man and Mega Man X, then there is a large amount of difference, considering that those are two completely different and unrelated characters.

Comment #2 on Zelaron Melee: There should definately be a separate forum for this. It would improve organization lots and allow people to go view only the Zel Melee threads instead of having to sort through General Gaming. Plus, it makes it easier to look through old battles for inspiration or simply nostalgia.

Well, on the sub-forum context: If this gets big enough, which I wouldn't doubt it will, one will be made, but at the moment, all of this is under construction and totally unsure of what the outcomes will be.

This is where all character suggestions will be posted for future tournaments. It's just simpler than starting up a new thread every single time. Though, I'll leave it closed until the next tournament comes to pass.
