dragon lance movie, can you say "dungeons and dragons crap movie rears ugly head again" or "belly flop to the bottom of hell repeated". fuck dungeons and dragons it was only good as a pnprpg and a few books all other media were, are and will be embarassing for eternity. Altough dragonlance might succeed at doing this, it was a great book despite numerous cliches i still feel that it will be a great mediocre dissapointment

I don't see it happening. There's simply too much content in the books to be put into a movie. I don't even think it would pathetically fit into a trio of movies. However, if they botched the storyline, neglected character development, and edited for time, they could do it. But if they did that, the movies would suck...

If they made 3 movies per book, then they would have my utmost attention. However, since I've read the books, and I know that a movie could never even begin to compare to the awesomeness of the books, I don't have much interest in it at the moment.

Regardless of the fact that I'm not interested in the possiblie movie(s), I'd still like to hear any information on whether or not it's truth.

Oh also, the D&D movie failed because it wasn't based upon any particular storyline. That's why the Final Fantasy movie failed. I went to the theater expecting a story from a Final Fantasy. My overwhelming expectation took the reason in my head and smashed it into tiny bits. I didn't think that it was impossible to put a 60 hour game into a 2 hour movie. Anyhow, if a movie were created that followed the storyline of any Dragonlance book(s) accurately, I would be very pleased, and it would succeed.

If more people read, Dragonlance would be an immensely popular title. The problem is that the average adult is not excited about the Dragonlance experience, and the average youth is either too lazy or too busy to get involved in a series of books. I began reading them upon reccomendation of a friend, and I love the books. Another friend of mine is reading the Forgotten Realms series, which I plan to read when I finish (ahah finish) Dragonlance.

Anyhow, here's a strong reccomendation from me: If you haven't read any Dragonlance books, I suggest you do. I started with reading the Chronicles. I believe Weis and Hickman are the best authors in the series. You can start with Soulforge and Brothers in Arms, but I actually liked the series in which I read the books. I read about the group's first adventures together, and then I went back to learn the history of the (hands down) best character, Raistlin. I'm reading other authors in the series right now, since I've read all that Weis and Hickman have written.

Recap: Read Dragonlance. (Start with either Soulforge/Brothers in Arms or Chronicles (This may be the best choice if you go back and read Soulforge/Brothers in Arms afterward))

I am into d&D alot too. And Medieval Bob i agree there is alot of stuff in the book the movie would proly leave out. But i think that they could do a movie on each boook in the Chronicles (Autumn Twilight, Winter Night, and Spring Dawning). Hell they did manage to do it for Lord of the Rings.

Thats true, just make the first one so good that the next ones get hype. I never read these books, so I don't know anything about them.

Although they did it pretty well with LotR, they still left out lots of details. There is a lot more to Dragonlance than what is expressed in the Chronicles, but if they made a trillogy of three-hour movies, they might could come close to doing the books justice.
