Trigun and Cowboy Bebop are my personal favourites, but you can't go wrong with Lain or NGE if you like just plain weirdness and I do.

And both of Shade's selections are good too.

Yes, Yu Yu Hakusho (sp?) was great.. I'm liking the new Inuyasha on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim currently, though.

They haven't even covered half of the released manga, which is also still going.

i remember watching it in Hong Kong while i was like 8, but only got to almost the end of the 2nd series (when the main character fights that musle dude). Canada cant probably never afford to air it. all they're fucking showing is some gay Dragonsballs reruns. goddamn YTV and Teletoons.

98?? That'll take a lot of Saturday nights to go through. It's like on episode number 10 or something on Adult Swim.. It'd be nice if Toonami carried it, though it's too bloody for daytime TV. And they better not water it down...

Yeah, there's at least 50 more episodes to go. Sounds like the manga might be ending soon, though. At least then I'll be able to give a better estimate.

Actually, Adult Swim will soon be running more than one night a week. Inuyasha will be on somewhere from 2-5 nights a week.

It was made like a good long time ago..compared to newer stuff today it isn't drawn too well, but yes I've seen it. Try one of RS's suggestions like Trigun it's a good series.

Edit: or Berserk if you like lots of action.

Here's some suggestions

Action/Comedy with a dark twist: Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Inu Yasha, Outlaw Star (actually, there's a lot of them)
Dark serious action: Hellsing or Noir
Pure Comedy/Bizarreness: Nadesico or Excel Saga
Fantasy: Bastard or .Hack//Sign (where one of my sigs and avatar come from)
Pure Comedy: Irresponsible Captain Tylor (Kind of like McHale's Navy in space)
Star Ocean EX (based on a game, but it has some hilarious moments)

And one that's kind of hard to categorise, Big O. It's like Batman with giant robot fights taking place in a city where no one remembers anything before the last 40 years.

I'll post more as I remember them.

Kenshin is somewhat similar to Ninja Scroll, but there's a lot of humour mixed in.

I assume you're looking for something darker, though. Hmm, try Noir. It's not a ninja type story, but it is quite dark and serious.

Some of the original episodes are referred to as "Kenshin" and not "Samurai X". At least that's what I thought.

The Japanese name of the show is "Rurouni Kenshin". Yes, it's the same thing as Samurai X.

NOT-KR - Britain's suposed to get an all-anime channel soon. I'll have to see if it comes in on my satellite.

hate Dragon Ball Z though. its always the same old predictable crap over and over again. bad guy come along for some dumb reasons to destory the world cause they have nothing better to do with their time, good guys loses, becomes tougher, kick the bad dudes ass, end of their life story. corny ass as hell and lack of storylines, unessisary queer gruntings. fells like that they're making it up as they go along. same with those Yu-Gi-Oh stuff.
I couldn't agree more, DBZ is hilariously bad...and poorly drawn. Rurouni Storm, you seem to know all the present anime, do know of a site that i could download them from? I'm a fan of every type of anime. Btw, those of you who like anime would probably also like Invader Zim, it isn't anime, but it is hilarious, and has great art by Jhonen Vasquez

Not much chance of finding dubs, though Cowboy Bebop, Trigun and Kenshin have great ones.

Dubs are illegal to distribute, so not many take the risk.

Also, get Kazaa Lite (search for it on google), the spyware free version.

Trigun has action and comedy. Slowly as the episodes go on you'll see less comedy and more action. I think it's a great series and in my opinion better than Cowboy Bebop, but that's just me.

Trigun is my favourite anime. I like Bebop, but Trigun's better in how everything fits together and into the plot. Bebop was mostly (quality) filler episodes.

Eh...I'd have to go with "Gundam is shit," 'Cept the Deathscythe is pretty awesome...But besides that the show is a bit too...predictable for me...And I didn't really like the characters...But Deathscythe ALMOST makes up for that...

Hmm I watched 2 episodes of Soul Taker and it's a bit....too weird for me. The first episode I felt totally lost and then on the second there was some nice action that made up for it but I still felt lost :(

I dunno, I liked shenglong until I saw the Gundam Wing episodes...They give the gundam the gayest paintjob EVER it's like light teal with darker...teal...It looks like something I vomited up after drinking a bucket of coleslaw...I dunno if you can describe that as having "charater".

hellsing is one of the best animes ever and Trigun. Hellsing because Alucard and his creepy ways and Trigun because Vash always gets away without killing himself and it is funny.
