I have very limited experience in programming. I've only used the most basic languages. QBasic, Basic, a little VBasic, DOS Batch if that counts. I was just wondering if anyone could suggest good books or tutorials on C++, Pascal, and Hex editing. I'm gonna go to school to learn this, but not for a while, and I want a head start. Any suggestions?

This isn't exactly a tutorial, but it's a good read:

I would have to say, I need to learn C++, Java, OpenGL(C++ and Java), and maybe VB. Someone told me not to buy the books, but to look at my local libary for some. Sad I didn't think of that.

Computer books are generally really expensive, but visiting a library for them will most surely end up with you being obligated to extend the amount of time which you're allowed to keep the book for. In other words, it's most likely that you'll be able to finish the book in the standard two weeks.
